Saw many PRTers out there today (JillieD, Notey, genie to name 3)! Notey said he came in 28th or something ridiculous out there. JillieD said she had a PR!

I feel guilty for writing since I don't yet know how jensparks, EQ, or vogel MD did today. I did hang with Jen a little this morning, she looked great and was quite ready. Saw her again just before we half marathon folks split off at mile 3 and she was actually slightly behind me! A great sign for her as we were right on an 8:45 pace at that point and she obviously wasn't going out too fast! She was smiling of course. My fingers are crossed.

Me, you ask? Was hoping for a 1:54 like last year, but I'll settle for the 1:55.13 (8:48 pace). I executed very well; race splits were all fairly even; the last 2 miles were my two fastest and last mile my fastest (closed with an 8:30 and an 8:20). My pectineus and adductors bothered me throughout and were quite painful by the end. It's not an injury - I could still run hard but the last few years at this distance or longer, they've really, really hurt. It's not supposed to be this painful. So, I learned from this race that the next time I do this distance or longer (!), I will really focus my ART doctor on them, 2-3 times a week if I have to. WHo knows, maybe it'll make me a faster distance runner.

caitopotato surprised the heck out of when she came up on me at mile 12 and asked how I was doing. I said "I've been better. Pull me". And she did! I was running pretty hard at that point, passing a lot of fellow mid-packers, but she was really turning it up! (She said, later, "I know, you were really hard to catch." ) She then pulled ahead a bit, but I was closing fast at the wire and she just beat me. Thanks, caito! That was great!

Beer and football now. Goodluck jensparks, vogel and EQ!
