Back to work for me. If I were smarter, I'd have taken today off work too as a recovery day, but oh well. I passed out at 10pm last night (eastern time) which is way early for me and only woke up once briefly in the middle of the night. So, hopefully that helps reset my body clock. Tomorrow will be the true test, since it always take a day or so for jet lag to really hit me.

For those of you not on FB, here are 2 photos I posted up last night. I have looked through all my photos but haven't sorted them into albums yet. The first one is at Crater Lake, after we hiked up to Watchman Peak (over 8000 ft elevation, my highest ever!). The 2nd is at Crescent City, CA. We hiked over to a lighthouse as the sun was setting. We normally do a bunch of self-portrait photos, but both of these were taken by others for us, so no goofy angles haha!

Indeed. And she couldn't be more specific on when it would arrive in a particular state. I asked if they had that info on their website and they don't.

Busy day today. Probably wrapping up my last trial in Seattle. I say "probably" because it could extend into tomorrow, depending on a number of things that don't need to be explained here. Doing so would just speed Wippy's descent onto her desk!

Sleepy here too. My 7 YO wanted to know why can't every Monday be a holiday.

Good weekend. Had a nice CSA pickup Saturday morning, then went to see my Dad and my in laws. I went to the cemetery where my mom is buried on Sat. The cemetery is doen the road from a great bakery - you can not drive near it without smelling all of this bready goodness. Mom used to always cook up bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches for the family on football Sundays, so I stopped by the bakery and picked up some rolls for the next day.

Had a nice LR in cool overcast conditions yesterday, showered, and then cooked up some bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches . After breakfast, mowed the lawn, hung some new shutters, then plopped on the couch for the Giant game. My wife made some kick-ass minestrone soup for dinner, and we had some home made apple cake for desert. Pretty darn nice day, even if I am sore from my run.

howdy peeps.

Dropped Ann off at the airport this morning, we had a really great weekend! Did some touristy stuff, walked miles (including the entire parade route of a neighborhood parade yesterday that my nephew was marching in with his pipe and drum corps) and had lots of great food.

Today, however, I'm exhausted...oof.

I'm so tired my contacts are rolling around in my head and I'm trying not to grab a bottle of coke. I guess the true test will be this afternoon when I know I have to work until 5. I hate long mondays and I have a meeting tonight after work and probably wont be home till 930 or 10

Awwwww... Look at the happy couple.

I miss Ann.

Lots to do today, and I'm not sure where to start. I guess with calling doc and getting more blood drawn. ick. I want to time that so I'm not here when my FIL stops by. Ok, pathetic, but I'm avoiding Dh's family for a while. (Yes, he knows & understands why, and no, he isn't mad about it.) And I guess I have a couple other errands to do too.

I made a batch of granola yesterday, and felt someone staring when I was breaking it up into a container

And then someone else noticed there was something going on and joined the party

Notice the forehead I'm-really-focused wrinkles.

There wasn't any peanut butter involved, and they never get people food (ie they aren't beggers), so I'm not sure what their deal was. Funny though.

Kath - Gus looks very optimistic that he'll score some goods whereas Jack looks like he's figuring out the calculation needed to score some of the goods should you not provide them to him willingly.

I never post pix of my nie-phews since my sis is really cautious, but since you can't really see what my nephew looks like here, I'm posting this one...he marched with his pipe and drum corp yesterday for the first time (he just started taking bagpipe lessons):

I've not much new to report. Oh, except Evelyn has a new tooth. This one is on top, opposite the first one she got down below. I can't help but think the first one helped bring the second one out.

He might be trying to work up enough brain power to attempt to make that calculation. Not the brightest bulb, our Jack. He is snuggly though. So he's got that going for him. Which is nice.

Even with the dropped stuff though, 9x out of 10 they don't go for it. Even when they're laying around me.

Dh is SOFA KING jealous. He got a practice chanter years ago so he could learn, but didn't keep up with it.

Back from my errands, and I timed it just right to miss FIL. And now I feel kind of bad, because his wife (step-MIL? that just sounds weird) bought some pots. Stupid catholic guilt. But ack, I just don't need the lectures or negative stories right now.

Fun: Old co-worker Geoff's wedding bowl came out perfectly so I'm going to wrap that and deliver it in the next couple days. I'm almost done with the last Stephanie Plum book, which is making me laugh out loud. Annnnnnnnnnd.... darnit, there was something else. Brain fart.
