I had an inappropriate touchy-feely married dude that use to show up in my office and give me hugs and back rubs. It started to freak me out because a) he would show up when he knew no one else would be around, b) I don't think I would have approved of his behavior if I had been his wife, and c) wouldn't have been cool if my boss had walked in when he was doing this. So now it no longer happens.

I've done it on occasion, but only when others are present, only to people who complain at the time and only when the rubbee agrees. (I do a pretty good job on necks.) Yes, I've done it to males as well as females.

Is it appropriate in the workplace? Displays of affection are fine, but not when they contain sexual innuendo, even for those couples who are together. Not uninvited, for sure. Not for more than a few seconds, and not in private.

Not appropriate. I work in a small office and we are pretty much like family here, and I would still find it inappropriate...at least for any of them to touch me.

I'm not a fan of office touching.

When I worked in the shops, I did used to punch the guys in the shoulder when they were being royal pains in the ass. But that's it. The creepy guy out there was always trying to get a full frontal hug from me. Ew.

Some people are more touchy than I, tho.
