My go-to cure for my lumbar problems is my inversion table. I use it for gentle traction by rocking back on it. 3-4 minutes 3x per day works wonders.

I would not do much training other than things that have therapeutic value. With 10 days to go, you're not going to train yourself to get any faster.

Good luck, buddy.

I got my inversion table online but later I saw them for sale at Fred Meyer - sort of a Target type store here in the PNW. They cost less than $300 and easily fold up against a wall. You set your height before you step into the foot clamps and that makes you perfectly balanced at the pivot point. You can then swing yourself as far back as you want. There is also a strap you can set the length of that will stop the rotation before it gets completely upside down. I use that if I'm not used to it.

Your spine is always in compression. Just switching this to traction for a minute or two can really help, but YMMV.

If you're having issues now, 12 hours of concrete at Presque Isle doesn't sound like the right formula, eh?

Hope the back pain works itself out.

Yeah. I'm already considering how wise that'll be seeing how I'm already signed up for JFK.

Though I am now feeling wonderous. No run today. I might try a real easy one tomorrow.
