<p>Do you know what region you'll be in?  Friends were down in Kandahar and Panjiwai district and said that for the most part it was calm.  Others were in the east, north-east assisting US troops and said it was far nastier. </p>

<p>The maddening thing is that the Taliban won't face the NATO troops using conventional warfare anymore as they get their asses handed to them.  How do you defend against suicide bombers and IEDs? </p>
