So, after my month of disheartening frustration, I figured that in addition to looking at scheduling and training volume, and eating and lifestyle issues....

an attitude adjustment was in order.

So, Tithers invited me to her house for a change of venue to see if it would help.

I drove over on Friday, miscalculated Friday afternoon traffice by about 30 minutes, and got there to a car crisis. Tithers couldn't find her keys, and the baby was screaming.

So, I distracted Ben, T found her keys, and we set out for the pool. Luckily, QN & Baby A, Sparty, Mr. Sparty and Gus, and GA Rebel Runner got there after us. The pool was nice and baby-friendly warm! Lots of fun was had splashing and jumping in....only one moment of adrenaline for the adults.

Then, back to chez Tithers for relaxing pizza and playtime.

Yay!

Saturday morning, Tithers, Ben and I went to a park that had a tree shaded loop for me to use for circle running (and some hill practice), and her and Ben to hang out as well.

Despite the heat and humidity, I managed to hold my pace reasonably well. It was still slow, but it wasn't a plodding, suffering slow....it was just slow. And, it didn't fall off as much as it went on as it has been in the recent past.

Back home....lunch.....

rest....

Off to the lake for an OWS. We left before we were ready, but the black clouds and thunder dictated that prudence was advised. No sooner had we pulled in to the p-lot in front of the restrooms to change than big fat raindrops started hitting the windshield. Yay! We didn't die in the T-storm.

Then, Ben and I hung out at home so mom and dad could have some grown up time out for dinner. Luckily, Ben had stopped being pissed at me for "kidnapping" his mom and dad by the time they walked in the door.

All in all.....

A nice relaxing weekend of attitude adjustment.

Now, to see if it will hold.
