Late in my races it seems to be my arms that start burning before my legs fel completely dead. I'm guessing I could improve this with some sort of strength training where I use light weights for "muscular endurance" but what kind of things should I be doing. A though of mine was to get the resistance chord stuff and work on pumping my arms pulling that. Or maybe some sort of shoulder exercise? Any ideas and comments would be wonderful.<br><br>

Me - I would do pushups and chair dips every night(or morning) - Just use your body weight.<br><br>
Start with something comfortable - Say 2 sets of 20 pushups tonight and then every night add 1 more - every night - you are not building muscle size - just stamina.<br><br>
Chair dips - 3 chairs - 2 that are about shoulder width apart + a little and the 3rd that you rest your heals on. Again so something comfortable maybe 2 sets of 20-25 and then add 1 to each set each night.<br><br>
I am sure some people have better ideas, but what I like about these are you can do them anywhere

I do arm exercises with 5, 8, and 10 lb dumbells three times a week as well as pushups. I have not had any arm problems since. I know after my first marathon i was surprised that the thing that hurt the most was my arms! lol. <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif">
