I did my final long run before my 10 mile race next weekend and ~5 miles into the run I started having calf pain (but I was 4 miles from my car) so I ran on the painful calf the last 4 miles and now I think I have a pulled or strained calf. I iced it last night but it hurts to the touch (kind of off to the side) and it hurts when I walk. Any suggestions other than don't run and ice? I really don't want to have to pull out of my race next Sunday .

I pulled my calf something awful running downhill in Cancun a few years ago. (NOT used to hills). I iced it and stayed off of it for a few days, plus light compression from an ace bandage, and that did the trick. I was back to running in under a week.

Wishing the same for you!

Oh, that's right. You walk to work. I'll bet walking on cement isn't helping it. Ouch.

That gives me hope. The only two things I can think about right now are:
1) I dont want to pull out of my race
2) Let me get beck to running because I really, realy do not want to gain weight and I am not very good about limiting my WW points.

oh, so I'm not the only person who some days only gets her workout in so she can eat the Activity Points? b/w that, the VRAA and the Summer Weight-Loss Challenge, I finally got my weight back down.
