Ohioans (and those nearby):

Save the date: Sunday April 6

Last year, a group of us got together for an April Fools FA run on April 1st. We put together a 12 mile and a 3.5 mile trail loops starting from Happy Days Visitors Center off Rte 303 in the CVNP.

It's a trail run, covering the best of the Cuyahoga Valley not named the Buckeye Trail. This fun run covers most of the trails within the Virginia Kendall unit, and most of miles 64-75 of the Burning River 100 course. Among others, trails include the Ledges, Kendall Lake, Cross Country, and the Salt Run.

It's an FA style run, bring your own aid. The Pine Hollow parking lot (heated restroom) is the midway point of the 12 mile loop.

Most joined for 12 or 15.5 miles (25k). Only two runners completed the entire 50k.

All are invited for this low-key fun run. I will post more details as the date approaches. See link for info from last year's Fools' FA:

http://rootsrunner.blogspot.com/2008...tion-post.html

Alright Craig. You are one of two 50k finishers and by default, my course record holder! See you there.

Aww, thanks. We'll get some photos for you.

Look forward to returning to Ohio to share in another great trail experience. Maybe we'll get a few more that want to do the whole 50K. Not that you and I can't complete it on our our own of course. But more runners the better.

That's right. I had forgot about your early start. You were the third runner that did more than 25k. Refresh my memory, how far did you get? I remember seeing you in the parking lot dealing with the rain, like the rest of us.

Looking forward to seeing you. Will you go for the Covered Bridge FA too?

If i remember right - i quit at around 36 very dehydrated miles. I had been hoping to do 50M.

Covered bridge is on my want-to list but long run Saturdays are few and far between with my wife working a lot of odd weekends hours.

Hello Kickrunners,

If you're in the NE Ohio area, reminder about the April Fool's Fat Ass this Sunday, April 6 at 7:00am. 25k and 50k courses start from Happy Days parking lot and cover most parts of miles 64-75 of the Burning River 100 course.

Runner-friendly course with 12.5 and 3.25 mile loops, using your car for aid. There is a restroom with running water (Pine Hollow) at the 6.75 mile mark of the long loop.

For more information, check the link. Printable trail map available there.

http://rootsrunner.blogspot.com/2008...tion-post.html
