I reserved this months ago, I won’t be going to Boston this year, so I will be calling the agency soon and turning this in. If anyone is interested, I can put you in touch with the agency before I turn it in. I don’t know if they have a waiting list or not,

Location is Dartmouth and Marlborough (about 5 or 6 blocks from the finish line). It is described as a small, sunny, studio with a new gourmet kitchen, private bath, and a queen sized Murphy bed, (third floor with an elevator)

$230/night, I currently have it reserved from Friday the 18th to Tuesday the 22nd

Thanks Hally, I'll do that if no former boomers are interested.

B&B (self-serve brekkie). Cheap and cheerful. $159+tax. Walking distance from finish line.

PM me if interested.

I say we plan on 2009 and bring a mass of masters with us, eh, Spankee? (Sorry, I'm slow to adapt to change.)

Guðmundsdóttir, canalrunner! Are you kidding me? Iceland is on the list! There are two marathons there; right? Tell me more.

(Ilene, when have you ever considered running a marathon only one time?!?! You'll love Boston so much, you'll just have to do it again.)

I know of only the one. It is in August. Not close in time to Boston--but the question would be cost. Was in Iceland years ago in June. It is an amazing country. On two continental plates--so it is literally splitting apart. Geysers. Waterfalls. Volcanos. 23 hours of sun in the summer. Blue Lagoon: hot mineral lake. Big Viking type party every Saturday. Very expensive country. http://www.marathonguide.com/races/r...MIDD=566070818

But SS is right Ilene, you can't do only one Boston, it becomes an addiction like beer, chocolate and sssssomething else, but I forget what it is.

Evan,

I had to do Boston twice. the first time, there was just so much pressure running on such hallowed grounds, I felt had to respect the course, train hard and run it well. The next year, I had a Boston finishers medal. I was in the record books as a Boston finisher. A DNF wouldn't change that, but there was a lot I didn't see the first time. last year I still ran it well, but I probably left 5 minutes in the bank I enjoyed the crowd, and I tried to see every inch of the course.

I will be back, but it is not something I ever planned on doing every year.

and FWIW, It looks like a boomer is picking up the room I had reserved.
