Not too close to JFK or the Slug event. Maybe end of October or mid December? i can plan out a course. We can make it variable distances or whatever anyone thinks. French Creek State Park.

If anyone is interested i can start planning.

Meri - I'll be following the details.

End of October is unlikely. Busy time at work and I'll still be recovering from the Bay State....

Mid December? If there's no snow...Hmmm, that might be doable.

That is, of course, providing that you take it easy on this old guy! No 50K or 50 Miler for me please!

I'm sure I'm stating the obvious, but if you're looking to get good attendance having 2 or three distance options can really help. Looking up at EQ's response I think you'll find a lot of people think the same, yet I know full well that a lot of the people you really want to come won't show up for less than 50K.

Having seen it done around here a lot, let me also suggest that it really helps to put a single page .pdf or .doc or .html out there for everybody to look at, then link to it a bunch of places here, maybe the ultra list (or regional ultralist) and any clubs you know. Havin a catchy name like "Meredith's Marvelous Fatass Fantabulous" doesn't hurt either. I can link to it off the Maniac's page if you want and get you a few more people.

When Pigtails has done this out here, she's set out "aid stations" every few miles stocked with a big 36x bottle pack of gatorade and water from Costco, with a little sign with the mileage and "please for Pigtails run entrants only." She puts out a hat at the finish for people to chip a few bucks in and it totally covers her expenses.

You probably knew all this stuff, but I thought just in case... Who knows? I might be in Philly when you do it.

It was nice because you could go the time/distance/speed you wanted to.

My husband and I only ran a few hours, because he didn't want to waste the hotel room!

It was the first time I met merigayle, durt and deturtle in person!

always!

I run this one loop that is 2 or 2.5 hours depending on which trails i take, so we can always loop that or i can make a bigger loop. There are some pretty nice trails around there, very scenic.

I'm game. In fact, this winter I am going to run as many FAs as possible. October or November might not work, but December and January may.

I'm keeping my options open for Looney's FA in Dec and the Cleveland FA in early Jan.

Keep us posted.

Mid-December i would think. Sunday, cause i work on Saturdays.

Fat-Ass = unsupported run. I would prefer fun run rather than race, but if people want it to be a race, i will make it a race

I'd be up for it in January, but I wouldn't want to throw everyone else's schedule off.

Oh yeah. I'll look into the Slug event, depending of course on December's outcome.
