Any race meet-ups planned for this year?

I have been posting mostly in the 30s since joining KR (and CR before that), and each year the group designates two or three races as meet-ups. Do you multi-sport folks do that as well? If so, have races been selected (or even suggested) for this year?

I think the meet-ups tend to happen more regionally in this forum.
 
There has been a get together on the Saturday before the Boston Marathon the last few years. The PNW LIT crew meet-ups are legendary and seem to involve camping, cooking, drinking and even the occasional triathlon. Those of us here in the Midwest sometimes get together right before IMMoo. I seem to recall the folks in the Southeast getting together around the Gulf Coast Triathlon.
 
The get togethers are great fun. You should organize a few!

Looks like most of the PNW crew will be doing the Shamrock race here in Portland next month if you're interested. No camping for this one, though.

I know that 4 of us are swimming across the damn chesapeake in 143 days. Not that I'm counting. Perhaps someone organized should plan some sort of meetup for that, especially considering there's an easy-peasy 1 mile race the same day.
 
I'm trying to sucker lots of people into IM Cd'A for 2013, but that's a bit far off.
 
in the NE, we tend to get together around Boston (Satuday meeting, beer post-race) and then just randomly when someone comes to visit. Otherwise we're giant slackers. Oh, hey, 4 of us will be at Derry on Sunday, does that count? Come fly up and run 16 horribly hilly miles on a day with a projected high temp of 14. I'll be sitting on my butt in the gym waiting for people to finish.

I guess I should have mentioned that I'm in the mid-Atlantic area. As much as a PNW meet-up would rock, it's a bit far. Anyone want to meet me at the NJ State Tri in July? Or Northeast Tri in August? Travelling for a tri certainly presents more challenges than travelling for a running race, huh?

have you done cda before? its BEAUTIFUL! i did it twice, 2007 and 2008. i'd go back in a heartbeat.

I'd love to participate in a PNW get together, unfortunately that race is March 13th and I'm scheduled to be working in Prudhoe Bay March 3-March 17. I'll keep an eye on the scheduled get togethers for this summer, lord knows I'm racking up the Alaska Airlines mileage.

I'm doing Showdown to sundown in Las Vegas 3/26
I'm doing Knoxville Rev 3 5/15
 
We will get the Chicago folk together
 
I'm hoping to go up to IMOO this year to spectate

Where and what time? Feb 6th is the final day of my annual Palm Springs bike trip and I'm flying from So Cal. to Seattle then onto Anchorage. I'm arriving at Sea-Tac at 1 pm and leaving at 8 pm. I have a cousin who lives in Tacoma that I'll be visiting and depending upon where the party is at I could possibly squeeze a quick stop in.

It's at Tammy's place and she's 15-20 minutes away from Sea-Tac. The Portland crew are coming up on Saturday so we should all be there.

Yeah.....
I'm still trying to decide whether I'm going to Amtrak up for it, or drive up. I'm Amtrakking for MCM in October. I figure it will be better for me to be able to get up and walk around post race without getting stiff like if I had to drive.
If driving, I may see if one of the three others wants to carpool.
I know that Tithers is thinking to try to combine it w/ a family vaycay so driving w/ her might not work out.
 
My sis and BIL and their kids will be there for the race....BIL said, "I figure .... if you can swim it, we can visit it and have lunch afterward." lol
