Temps in morning suppose to be 41 degrees. What? Temps for Saturday's 5k should be mid 50's but breezy.

Not much else to report yet this morning. What's up with you?

Hi All

5 degree Celcius here in Montreal, Not sure what that is in American.

No running today, I did go out yesterday against my better judment and ran a good run bettered my time over my 5,5 km route by 4minute fron the day before. But for some reason I had back pain and spasms for the rest of the day. I think there may be an epidemic going on. Back is much better today and hopefully I will be able to hit Mount Tremblant this week-end.

A few photos of the town from my last run up.

That is beautiful, Roly. Good luck, ksrunr.

4 TM miles for me, as I have done a few times in the last week but not reported. Taking it easy but trying to keep something going. Light rain today--a small price to pay to bring weather relief to CC.

I think you're onto something, Roly, about the "epidemic"....because I too have been having trouble with back muscle spasms!!

Everyone else - hide! quick!

5 miles for me last night, 8 planned for tonight.

beautiful place to run Roly. 5C is about what we expect here when tomorrow's cold front comes through.
Nice runs everyone! Glad to see you are getting in some time after all, FO. Hope that works out for you.

Impressive TM run yesterday Rip. That's some good mileage Happy Feat and KS, and good pool-run-to-handle-the-flare TW

My secret to avoid back spasm: avoid yard work.

I have the short run for the day. Only three miles not counting warm-up and cooldown.
I wanted to try my treadmill trial again of 7 minute pace for three miles. It's a goal I've had for a couple years now.

Made it!

Roly, what a beautiful place to live!

6 miles today plus cutting up the pear tree that broke in the snow storm.

Saturday night, during the storm, DW looked out the window and gave a shriek of anguish. Some years ago our children gave her a pair of flowering pear trees for Mothers Day and one of them had split under the weight of the snow.

"You've got to go out and clean off the other one," she told me.

Anyone who lives in the north knows that shaking a snow laden tree is a task reserved for the feeble minded, small children, . . . or husbands. Ten minutes later I stomped back into the house with snow in my hair, in my ears, down my neck, in my shoes, in my pockets, everywhere you can imagine.

PT, that's what brooms are for!

Rip, you're an animal. I'd to bonkers over that length of TM run.

Hi HappyFeat, KS, TW, FO, Bob, and Roly (nice pics of Trembant.... good luck there)

No back issues here, but the hips are threatening a mutiny.... so I'm off to the massage therapist on Monday to get everything straightened out again. Got in my usual spin class yesterday, and about 4.5 miles of running after work today, followed by some long-needed strength stuff. Weather was gorgeous... 18°C and sunny... no-sleeve conditions probably for the last time this year. Unfortunately, my stomach complained most of the way, so I kept it short and easy.

Hi Heme - enjoy the massage.

My massage therapist is still AWOL - that's half my problem - I'm overdue. I agree with you Bob about avoiding yard work to prevent back spasms, that and other manual labor type home improvement jobs - like scraping and sanding cabinets that someone else decided to paint without primering You really don't want to know anymore! If it ever gets done, I'll post a photo of the remodeled bathroom. At the rate it's going, it should be done by Spring.

I also think too much Halloween candy isn't helping since I'm often told sugar contributes to inflammation...of muscles, joints, etc. Nearing the end of the supply, thank goodness.

Way to go on the TM run, Bob! Congrats on achieving your goal!!

Great job Bob

I think the colder weather is to blame for unhappy muscles.

Good luck on the 5k KS

I did find a 5 mile trail run fairly close that I may do on sunday. I'll see how I feel after following all the races at the

State meet saturday. After many years, they will be running at a new location (National Trails Raceway) so we'll have to figure out the best way

to see as much of the race as possible.

Heme, I broke the run into 2-1 hour segments. The first hour I had something interesting to watch on tv but not so much the

second hour. I spent more time watching the tvguide than I did watching any particular show. It also helped to throw in the hills

and the constant change of pace.

I took today off just because so I should be fresh tomorrow morning for an eliptical workout.

Well at least you got 16 miles for your 2 hours on the TM, Rip.

My Wednesday night 8-milers on the TM take me almost 90 minutes.

Making those my tempo runs keeps me interested, plus I have a couple pictures on the wall I like to look at while my mind wanders.

I honestly don't have a problem with TM running because to a great degree, it's the physical feeling of running that I enjoy; so I don't have to be outside. Unfortunately my TM doesn't love me back and if I run on it too much, the tendon on the outside of the leg above the right ankle (peroneal t..?) really gets aggravated.

HF, I have to watch the treadmill running too for injuries. My plan of attack this winter is to mix up the runs with some hills and take a couple

days off between each run working out on the eliptical instead.
