23 degree air with a stiff winds and lake effect snow piling up until the tires were spinning on the uphills. People were making fun of my "alpha bike tourist" saddlebag and mirror until I reached in and produced a peanut butter and jelly on home baked bread

Kudos on getting some outside time this time of year. I need to re-eval my gear for the colder stuff (sub 32) as I've not gotten out in ages. We've had ice ice and more ice it's been crazy.

i got some all leather mittens with lambs wool lining, they were great today. I use extra thick craft wind stop tights and winter shoes with booties over top. Up top I wear wool shirt and some more jerseys and that big touring jacket over top plus a carhardt winter hat with ear flats and an old helmet with some of the pads removed. I was very comfortable, others were not. I like the big saddlebag, i keep extra tools, food and a light jacket in it. The mirror is helpful and I use a extra bright blinkey and bontrager hard case tires, fenders and lower gearing. We got 4 hours in with this setup.

Classic indeed. I was out for a long run in stupid snow, with it coming down hard and a blizzard blowing it about. This was the day after Christmas. We saw the same guy on his bike several times. He was out for at least two hours or more. Reminded me of you. He had great handling skills too, as his bike was in a more controled slide every time he navigated around us. Conditions looked just like those in your wintry picture.
