Fun: picking up a load of clay. Well, the loading/unloading/carrying 500lbs down into the basement isn't fun, but having that much clay at my disposal is.

More fun: meeting some HF peeps for lunch today at Byblos.

Fun: Day off from work. I'm heading into Manhattan to meet one of my best friends (who's coming in from CT) and we're gonna spend the day drinking beer and wandering around the city. (Although his wandering might be limited becuase he had surgery on his knee recently). Good stuff!

That does sound like a fun way to spend the day, Bob.

Hmm...what's my fun today. Well, it's friday! That's fun! The dragonboat festival starts today so there's lots of people wandering around. And lots of boats in the harbour. I just saw them move one of the dragonboats from the yacht club across the harbour to the big fiddle where the races are. A coastguard boat in front and one behind. For safety, I guess. There were only 3 rowers in the dragonboat. I would have told them to tow me over!

Teddy bear picnic going on tomorrow downtown so I'll take Lena and Evelyn to that. They'll enjoy it, I'm sure.

howdy peeps, thought I'd pop in again this morning. My sister and her kids, who've been here since Mon are heading home tonight for a couple of nights (since my sis hasn't really been able to sleep well with both kids...the beach house is small), so I'll be here with just my folks. Which makes me a little anxious, truth be told. I don't normally spend a lot of alone time with them and it's hard for me to see my mom so frail and less abled. And bald. Did I mention she's lost her hair again from the chemo? She's not shy about going wigless.

Funny story about that...my nephew calls her wig her "hair hat" and has taken to wearing is around when my mom isn't. Heh. I have a really funny picture of both of them in her wigs (she has 2) but I can't post it because my sis is really cautious of privacy around my nie-phews. Sigh.

Shameless promotion: I posted this last night, but I thought I'd post it again. The EMACT Distinguished Achievement and Special Honors (DASH) nominees were announced Wed night, and I've been nominated for costumes for 2 shows, for two different theatre companies! Ideal Husband and Father of the Bride. There are 6 nominees in the category, and I'm 2 of them, which just seems amazing to me. Oliver, which I was in, was also nominated for Best Ensemble. I'm really excited to go to the awards ceremony in August with the people from both companies. I'd love to win but I'm excited to go no matter what.

Hope everyone is well. I'm off to the beach again (aka, heading over the dune), I'll check in again later.

PS, I can't believe it's been a year since Voo died. Also, this is the year anniversary of my week from Hell...good riddance for that.

Morning. I'm working in a coffee shop today in the hopes of regaining some lost momentum. I just feel suffocated at the office. I'm also volunteering at the Show Me State Games track meet this weekend. I'm helping to corral the volunteers and then I'm volunteering myself. As a volunteer, I was supposed to show up at 7:30 tonight, but the other coordination e-mailed and said he would meet me at 5:00. I suppose the throwing events start earlier so I need to be there then. Yikes. I'm supposed to show up on Saturday morning at 7:30, but maybe I'll need to be there even earlier depending on when stuff starts.

I've finished 2/4 TMNT and have a good start on Donatello. This is actually a fun project!

Hope everyone enjoys their various fun activities today!

Fun: I subbed today (not necessarily the fun part, but it wasn't bad) and ran into DD2's teacher from last year and an man who I subbed with a lot. I found out he finally got a teaching gig, so I'm thrilled for him!

Becca, you are very often very cheery and I appreciate that. :)

I came up from the beach for lunch. Alone. I'm just sitting in the sunroom in front of the sliding doors and enjoying the silence. I love my nie-fews, but they're loud and relentless and exhausting. God love you parents.

My stabby stomach pains are back, though they're less stabby then they were the other day. Back pain is also increased over general soreness. I'm starting to think the two are related. I'll see how I fare over the weekend, and if I'm still having intermittent stabbiness, I'll call the doctor. Bah!

FUN! I've been working like crazy to get briefing done before a trial starts and today the court adjourned the trial until May 2011. SO, my stress level has just dropped by about 30 degrees and I will be able to blow out of here to watch my boys sail today! Woo Hoo.

And I'll go for a run. Should be interesting to see how it goes after getting only 3 hours of sleep last night. I ended up working until 3:30 am.

WOOHOO!!! Good for you! I intended to be up and working by 3 or 3:30 a.m.... TONS to do before my next trial starts, and even more to do on all the ones that are lined up behind that one. (Most of which will be reassigned to other DPAs. Shhhhhh....)

But - since we are driving to Portland this afternoon, I figured some sleep would be a good decision.

Whatever. With a llittle bit of luck, I'll be out of here by 2:30 ish, go to the gym for a quick workout, and then home to get DD! Hope to be on the road before rush hour BS kicks in!

Yay Mindi!! I've meant to ask before, is there a lake and river nearby to where live? Both the kayaking and sailing fun looks sweet and close by!

Congrats Maureen!

Nothing overly fun or un fun today although I finished making travel plans to head to the Midwest and hang out with J and his family at his father's lake house for the better part of a week. I've decided this is the trip where I make an open water swim a reality, each morning.
