Yeah, Mondays are meh. But at least I had a good weekend. A couple decent runs, some beautiful weather for this time of year, and on Friday night I took the kiddo to Family Swim night at the Y. She had sooooo much fun, and she's really become a decent swimmer. Lots of good times...

But now it's back to work. Ugh...

Mornin' all! Had a total blast yesterday skiing up in Western Mass... there wasn't much snow outside of that on the slopes but the warmer weather sure helped keep the kiddos' moods up and out there longer. J's oldest 3 nephews + niece took a lesson w/their dad while J and I reacquainted ourselves with some of the easier runs. I totally freaked out at first, seriously cannot remember the last time I skied and must have become much more of a wuss since then. At any rate, it only took 2 runs to get me feeling good, comfortable and in control again. We did the bunny hills w/the kiddos for a good chunk of the day but would break it up with some longer runs on the other stuff. Unfortunately not a ton of fresh powder so the slopes started getting real icy by the end of the day. All in all, a great time and the kiddos absolutely loved it! I'm a bit sore today but not nearly as much as I would have thought ... I'm sure the 7.15 mi of easy running this a.m. will help too.

Brandy - big ole ugh... that's weak sauce

I seriously need a day like Big G noted yesterday... so much stupid lingering organization crap and cleaning up that I should really buckle down and take care of ... wah.

Morning all.

So, my local running club is planning a different kind of marathon this spring: http://circularlogicmarathon.blogspot.com/ and they just sent an update on the registration:

We'll entertain runners from New Hampshire, New York, Texas and California, as well as Indiana and neighboring states. There is a wide range of ages and a third of the field is women so far.

Three registrants are of particular note:

Larry Macon from San Antonio is the world record holder for running the most marathons in a calendar year. He set the record in 2010 with 106 marathons and improved that to 113 last year.

Tony Reed of Dallas is the first African-American to run a marathon on all seven continents. This race will be marathon 110 for him.

Bob Kennedy of New Hampshire is aspiring to be the first man to run a sub 4 hour marathon in each of the 50 states AFTER the age of 60. This race is his shot at notching Indiana, adding to the 23 states he already has.

I'm probably going to be just getting back from spring break the day before (still not sure if we're flying/driving), but if anyone is interested, I can make sure we're back in time to be good hosts!

morning peeps.

Def feeling more myself, but the lingering cold is completely in my sinuses and during a meeting this morning, I started having one of those stinging, sinus-eyeball headaches. Oy. I just took a couple aspirin, should help soon.

While I wasn't nearly as productive as Big G this weekend, I did get the rest of my holiday packed away (it wasn't still UP, but it was piled on my dining room table waiting to get put away), plus did a good vacuuming, dumped out the whole cat box and sanitized it, the floor, and walls around it, and cleaned up the kitchen. (I found a chapstick under my toaster oven...no idea how that got there, or how long it's been there.) I also practiced guitar quite a bit. Right now, I'm playing chords along with Radiohead. I'm sure my neighbors will be happy when it's something besides Fake Plastic Trees, all.the.time. (Frankly, as much as I like that song, it's starting to get into my dreams....)

I had other stuff to say...total brain fart!

Who's watching Downton Abbey????? OMG. I'm obsessed.

Morning, friends. So far today, I've gone to Mass, worked out with the trainer and had a chiropractic adjustment. All felt good. Too bad I have about 70 pages of reading before my class this afternoon. And I'm not ready for class tomorrow either. I am such an eternal slacker.

Love to all!

Morning 30's. I went to Laughlin this weekend. It was the first time I have ever been and it turned out to be a lot more fun then I expected. The town has a much different feel then Vegas. It was really relaxing and at a slower pace. I guess because everyone was 90. I was able to run before I left and when I got back but not while I was there. There realy wasn't a good stretch to run at and the wind was blowing at about 30 mph so I just relaxed.

Good luck Tonya!

kp and duck - glad to see the recoveries progressing.

I need to rent a Goon. This weekend, we had a toilet leak. So, I was ripping out the drywall bulkhead in the basement to get to the source. Will not cost much to fix (~$30 bucks) but it is time and a PIA.

My gym membership just got rejected. Need to find out why (work is supposed to pay for it, and they have not laid me off yet....)

First day with contacts in over a week. Thank God. I really hate not having peripheral vision, and my glasses just do not stay on my face when I lean and look down, which makes working on pots and pretty much everything else I do on a daily basis quite a challenge. (I've tried glasses with nose pad things, the kind that wrap around your ears (and give me a headache) and all manor of glasses. They're either uncomfortable or don't stay on.)

Anyway.

Got the kiln loaded this morning, only about 200° left to go there. Dh's logs V2.0 will finally be done. And some Fool's Run mug prep stuff, so I'll be all set to start major production on that this week. And then I walked up to the coffee shop to knit with a couple ladies. Walked home (it's about a mile) and hten took Somebody for 1/2 mile walk. He is FULL of piss and vinegar today, even after the walk. He needs something big to think about. BIG. (I can't walk him farther cause he's too young. Annoying.)

GO TONYA! ~~~~~~~

Maureen - I saw DA last night. LOVE it. I want it to be on every day.

Hi from punta cana! Trip down was a little hairy bc we were essentially up all night with AK and her teething issues (I hate teeth!!!) but once we got down here, all was well! The sun is scorching and the drinks endless while the baby plays in daycare - momma is having herself a grand time! Gotta catch up on some threads. Hope you all are staying out of trouble! :)
