So who's in for this one? I'm planning on doing the full again - I've run this 6-7 times and enjoy it quite a bit for a number of reasons (good course, well organized, low-key, I can sleep in my own bed and be home by lunch, doesn't interfere with other races, tons of friends doing it).

If you've not run it before - this is a good course. They made some changes this year but I think the bulk of it is the same (don't hold me to it). There's a big hill at mile 2 followed by a stair stepped downhill - not too bad on the way out, but the stair steps when you return are tough - but then you're rewarded with the long downhill and a flat final mile. In between - there are some rollers but no major hills to speak of, although an overpass right around 20 or 21 always seems to hurt a little (imagine that!). There's not a ton of fans but the water stops are really pretty good - I don't need a ton of spectators so I don't mind the dead spots, but I know this is a big deal for others. I think the course changes were made with the hope of getting more access to spectators since much of the course is on the base and therefore restricted access applies.

They have a half marathon, a relay, and a 5k. The AF Museum is awesome - after you finish, catch the bus to the rec center to shower and then check out the museum, or suggest to your family they do so while you're running.

Best part is the finish - you get a high ranking officer that hands you your medal after you run down the final straightaway with AF planes on either side of the runway. Of course, what finish ISN'T one of the best parts of a marathon?!
