Okay, okay, it IS a running site (amongst other things). So, have at it.

This one has a story. I was asked by a colleague to be part of the Banff-Jasper Relay team he was putting together. He was part of the organizing team and is a bit of a zen master of running, always looks cool and calm no matter how fast he's going. He assured me up and down and sideways that this was a FUN team and that we'd be well back in the pack, no need to worry about my pace. Yeah. Right.

In second after the first leg, in third after the second, in sixth when it got to me, and at least 10 minutes back. I reeled her in and just as I was passing her I took a tumble on a downhill and tore myself up pretty bad. Got up, passed her again and made it to the finish.

At any rate, this pic is of the competitor before me, running down from Bow Summit (6850) to my hand off. It looks lonely, because it is. It's a beautiful stretch of road that I think you all should travel one day, and maybe, just maybe even run...

BTW, he's a disabled athlete (one arm) and is on the International Paralympic Committee Board, likely to be its next president. Yeah. Right. A "Fun" team. We took Gold by the way.

So, have at it. Pictures of, about, tangential to... running.

The photo credit for this one goes to my friend Nick. That's me in the photo. I'm running the Athens (OH) half-marathon and am waaay at the back of the HM pack and the full marathoners haven't caught up to me yet. That is a black cat, happily sunning himself in the middle of the course, and he didn't budge an inch when I ran past him. It's one of my favorite running photos of me. There are some sun spots on the photo but overall I like the placement of all the elements.

So do I Bard, so do I. Almost everything I love about running is in that shot. Apart from the Black Cat that is.

On the paths/trails assignment, I was working on getting in a few people in action shots, as I generally haven't done that in the past (I almost feel too intrusive often times.)

As I was finishing up the assignment, the pathway I was taking was full of runners, so I tried to discreetly get some of them in action from the side. I really like this one because she's so in the moment and completely unaware, as well as just coming into the frame as well in full stride.
