Trying to have healthier snacks. Mostly i have been eating granola bars

Today i had Trader Joe's Organic Hummus (OMG SO YUMMY) and TJ's Pretzel slims.

Any other ideas? for vegetarian healthy snacks?

I forgot, how vegetarian are you? Do you eat eggs and/or dairy?

Some information I got at the nutrition workshop was to not necessarily think you have to eat "snack food" for a snack. Think of it more like a small meal and try to include two foods from different nutrient groups.

So, you could have half a sandwich (PB, marinated tofu, mock deli meat, egg salad), some combination of string cheese, yogurt, nuts, popcorn, fruit with nut butter, a few pieces of veggie sushi, a small portioned pasta or rice salad, baked chips with bean dip, veggies with hummus, etc. etc. etc.

I usually have 2 small sandwiches on light WW rye bread (never would have guessed it was light by the taste!) and soy bologny. But i am always hungry.

Seriously, if i run for 90 mins in the morning, i should be hungry all day, right? I rarely eat eggs, maybe once a year out with my grandfather for b-fast. I try not to eat dairy, but have one yogurt in the morning for all the good acidophilus in it. Maybe some froyo at night, but i try to avoid dairy overall. I was all vegan until my coach put me on the lo carb diet for a month in the fall. That sucked

I like almonds (raw), soy crisps and pita chips for afternoon snacks. I probably have enough food in my desk to survive off of for at least a week. But I usually eat something every 3 hours or so.

banana was my short answer, since it's my favorite afternoon snack.

I also like almonds, grapes, or yogurt.

Also kashi heart-to-heart cereal, munched on dry.

I also vote for unsalted, raw almonds.

They're decent enough tasting but not delicious enough to induce overeating, like salted and roasted nuts would be.

I love the combo of almonds with cucumber pieces. the cucumbers help to fill me so I don't eat too many almonds, and they're a great combo
apple slices with peanut butter
celery stalks filled with light peanut butter or laughing cow herb cheese (I'll bet you could find a good soy cheese instead)
raw, fresh snow peas (I LOVE to snack on these)
pita chips with salsa
soy chips

Don't ask me why, but around 1pm whenever I'm at work, I get a real craving for some peanuts.

Not exactly the best thing in the world for you (lot of fat), but I love them.
