I've been testing at the development site and have come up with a way to have ads in the forum area.

They would be seen by anyone who is NOT a premium subscriber. Ads could be put in different areas.

1. Top Right (where Road ID ad was located)
2. At Forum level
3. Bottom part of the forum area.

In fact, IF it's working correctly now - YOU shouldn't be able to see the 'subscriber' advertisement at the top right of the site. Only non subscribers and 'unregistered' users should see it.

What are your thoughts on this?

IF i've done it correctly, (and that's a big IF) - there should be an ad in the forum now - the ad is mine - promoting the subscription service.

If the permissions are working correctly, you shouldn't be seeing this ad or any ad on the site.

Let me know if you do see them.

Thanks

I think this is a great idea. This way there is something sortof paying for the non-subscriber usage and if they don't like it then they can pay.

They do this in some video games as well. The ads annoy the gamers and they are given an option to subscribe to get rid of them.
