(I asterisked identifying info to avoid plastering her al over the web, but if you'd like the link to her website, meri, I could send it your way.)
she has graduate studies in acupuncture but does not mention licensure or being board certified?
I live in the land of unlicensed practitioners and it is a big beef of mine and unfortunately, a large amount of the acupuncturists in Florida are wacky too. But i digress.
meri, a large amount of PEOPLE in Florida are wacky, period. We contend it's b/c of the overly lenient bankruptcy laws. All kinds of scam artists come down here and put up their shingles b/c they figure they won't lose the house. (look at OJ Simpson). Now I'm digressing...
i have this patient, who is one of my most favorite. She moved to FL with her DH to their "dream home." She had come to me in severe chronic pain on disability. She did awesome and felt great. She has been to five different acupuncturists and has had no relief. It got to the point where she asked them to just do what i did and then some of them dissed me (she forwarded me their emails) and told her i was just out to get her money!!!!!! Then she went to gynecologist who called her breasts "titties" and that really rubbed her raw since she had a double masectomy and really bad reconstructive surgery. This poor woman has not found one decent medical provider in her area

isn't FLorida where a dr can do surgery without being trained or certified to do surgery?
that's awful! I don't think surgery can be performed without certification, but there have been many quacks caught doing it anyways. It's too common in the Hispanic communities for people to claim they're doctors, set up a cash-only 'clinic' and do lots of business until the police catch them. Or they kill someone.

Do you know where in FL your patient moved to? If she happens to be anywhere near Boca, we have a wonderful chiro here, and I could ask him for a recommendation.
hmmm i forget where she is. Not near Boca. I think she is much farther up north. Poor woman. She is back to being very disabled

It jsut surprises me that with all the stuff i have to go thru to get board certified and licensed that no one checks up to make sure everyone is licensed and i do not think that the consumer (patients) are aware that they need to check these things. It would never occur to me that my dr is not licensed. Luckily mine is hanging on the wall right next to the door
