I'm sure all the marathoners are feeling it today. I ran a half trail saturday and I am all beat up. My left foot has been bothering me a little for about a month, my right knee (IT) hurt the last couple days but felt better today, and I somehow strained a muscle in my upper back below my shoulder blade that makes breathing when running more difficult. I still got in my hour this afternoon running a little slower than yesterday until I did the last half mile at 7:00 pace just to change it up a little after going 8:30-8:40 the rest of the run. Ended up with 7.01 miles.

I have my monthly massage coming up thursday so I am hoping that will help.

I am also soaking my foot in epsom salt. It was only hurting a little after a hard workout

but isn't recovering as well after the race.

I'm so inspired by the Boston runners! Great performances turned in by everybody. Boston was just bursting with energy and excitement! I wish I got the chance to see everybody but the meeting time collided with my tee time and I coldn't make it in Saturday early enough.

During yesterday's recovery run through my town everybody was getting ready for the big Patriots' Day parade and battle re-enactors (the redcoats marched to my town after the skirmish in Lexington). I felt like I had my own little crowd support going on and couldn't help but step on the gas.

Today I went to the track and did 6x1/4 mile intervals. My turnover is getting better. Next week I'll extend the distance to around 600m.

Enjoy the gift,
