<p>Three Hills Alberta. Home of the Prairie Bible Institute. Not that far from the Creation Museum (and the Gopher Museum for that matter). </p>

<p>Beautiful high prairie. Very small town.</p>

<p>Most people have never danced in their lives, let alone heard, seen or thought of Contra Dancing. This clip is from the first dance of the evening of the very first Contra Dance Series. I called and a wonderful band, Mercat Cross supplied the music. The crowd was aged from 3 (!) to about 73.</p>

<p>Here are members of the band warming up prior to the dance. Just wanted to show you the footwork.</p>

<p>Anyway, afterwards I was joking with the organizers and suggested that it was in some way like Footloose. "Yeah... no."</p>

<p>Still, for a community where posters advertising highland dance classes and ballet are routinely torn down this was a beeeg step.</p>
