No, Really. Not wanting to be a sh*t disturber, but this has been going on for years.

People in public service, first responders like the police, amubulance, firefighters, and then all the volunteers on the site... from the get go some of them had acute health problems. What is with the folks who don't want to compensate? I just don't understand. Some of them were volunteers for crying out loud.

Tell you what, tax the fricking health care plans of congress to pay for some help.

1) It would have to be shown a specific condition was caused by what was breathed in by a responder.

2) Unless there's something that proves a volunteer was there in the aftermath (actually looking for people in the rubble, rather than working a food stand two miles away, e.g.), you'll get people who weren't there filing for this, whether its for free med services, cash, or both. A standard joke in Chicago was if a CTA bus was in an accident with 10 people on board, 50 will come forward saying they got whiplash. Something along those lines.

3) Does this guy who was assigned to determine damages payable get to include medical services in his comps? Don't know.

4) If everyone - including Congressmen - had to sign up for Obamacare - it would never have passed. They should take the gesture you mentioned for this.

But don't hold your breath.
