Hi Gang,

ks almost put me to sleep there...

Ahem, anyway, I'm here to report 8 miles, 6 at MP, 8:29 overall avg. Legs felt a bit fatigued due to last night's gym w/o, but it was all good. Upper 60's and humid.

55F, Johnny? Sounds downright cold!

It was 55° here too Johnny....In my refrigerator!!

Actually I ran a little behind today and finally got out to run at 4 pm. 80° and the sun was beating down. I was going to do a little in the state park and then do a road loop, but the shade felt much better. I wore my garmin for the first time at the state park and was pretty surprised at the results. The first surprise was how slow my pace was. I ran 7:50 on the roads to get there and then ran 8:30, 8:21, 8:16, 8:56, and 8:38. The last mile and a half in town was about 7:20 pace.

What was more surprising was the ascent and descent numbers. The total for 7.5 mile was 2,132 feet!! One mile alone (the 8:56) was over 500 feet gain and 400 feet loss. If my math is correct, that would make the uphills about 18% incline. I know some may even be steeper than that because years ago, they put wood in to make steps so it was easier to get up the hill for the hikers.

No doubt over the years I have probably overestimated the miles I ran there so I'll have to take a hundred off my lifetime total.

Made me smile with that, KS

Actually it's only 7:15 pm right now, but I'm done with my easy 4 miler and promise to hit the hay sooner than later.

Thanks for the vibes. I actually did get almost 6 hours last night and felt more human today, but will do what I can to get even more tonight.

TW - it's been an interesting and rewarding comeback. I've learned alot about listening to my body and making adjustments. It was the first time I had to actually stop running for a couple weeks straight - incomprehensible to me at the time (a diehard compulsive runner) - but was the only way to get the symptoms under control. Then for months I could only run if I ran extremely slow and only every other day. I've had some minor relapses, but I know what to do and not do now. I'm thrilled to be running four and five days in a row now, and finally working on pace and distance.
