Well, Maples, I'm glad you're having fun.

I don't know about you, but I'm getting psyched up for college football season. I think I might actually make a trip south for a game this year. Got my eye on the Cocktail Party at the end of October...

As for this weekend... It's a beautiful day, so that's fun...

I am still sitting around sippin' coffee. DH and I slept in until 9:00 am. Amazing how quiet it is here without the boys. They are having an awesome time in Niagra Falls.

Hi all - gotta' concur with Kevin & Tonya - Inception is one helluva' movie. Went to see it yesterday with Kris and we were both blown away by it. Going to check out the state fair in a few

BigG - congrats (I think) to you and and the DD :)

I'm heading to the lake as soon as the family gets back from picking up MIL. A few friends are coming up later. Tomorrow we're going north to see DH's extended family and attend a graduation party. Hopefully I can get DH and MIL to leave at a decent hour. They like to say let's leave at 4 and really leave at 7. Drives me nuts, because I have to get the kids road ready multiple times.

Bob I agree with you. I just have a nice but strange feeling about football season. This year I don't care about hype or who's ranked where or what. I'm just looking forward to watching football both pro and college. I got NFL Sunday Ticket for 40% off when I called to cancel my auto renewal. The Direct TV rep on the phone gave me a "double discount" of -$20 per month. I had no intention of paying again this year as I think it actually should be against the law for me to pay for a broadcast of a network tv game that is FREE to those people living in those cities. ROFL. What a scheme! Seriously I do think it is a rip off. But nobody is making be subscribe and I'm not helping things by giving them my money. lol.

Love the NFL Direct Ticket Maples...is it a scam? Maybe. But as the NFL black out rules exist I'm forced to watch on network TV either Lions or a random game (typically a Colts or Patriots game...Fuck Belichek and Manning). It is pricey? yeah. But if you take that price and spread it out over the entire year, it ain't bad = $25 a month. I spend more than that on beer. Plus, then I get to watch whatever game I want. And since my preferred team is 600 miles away, I know that Sundays at 1 PM I can watch the Bengals. At least the small price increase this year means we get all the games in HD.

Weekend fun: Long Run (wasn't so much fun, see run thread), going with C to the tattoo shoppe, going to the County Fair (weather permitting), going to see a HS classmates band tonight. He was telling us about it last night, they're called Time Machine and they do four sets complete with costume changes - 1st set is country, then 70's/Disco, then 80's pop, then 80's hair bands. Should be fun! Tomorrow Johnny Winter - free concert at Riverside.

Hey y'all.

I miss the NFL network mid-week condensed recap games we had when we subscribed to Dish. They basically show an entire game in 60 minutes by cutting out all the in-between the action stuff. I'd watch 2 or 3 per week.

My football road trip is when I come back east in September to visit Michigan and then head down with my brothers to Knoxville to see Oregon v. Tennessee.

My handyman project today was to move the dryer vent from the foundation to a point midwall directly behind the dryer. It's all done except for I need a fresh tube of caulk to seal the area between the vent and the siding. Now I'm thinking about installing some solar tube skylights...

I did get 5 lbs of GA peaches from an Amish family in the next town and when I bit into the first one I almost died. I haven't had a true GA peach in 15 years and I just can't believe how amazing they are compared to the crap that we get in the store. And at the farmers market ( it's run by a bearded lady) I got 25 lbs of tomatoes, 4 lbs of onions and 2 spagetti squash for 13$

Wow, WIp, that's quite a haul!

Well, I tried baking stuff today and it all turned out really crappy. I baked the banana bread too long and something weird happened to both zucchini breads (two loaves in the oven seems pale and flat and the bread machine bread imploded during baking). Maybe I was trying to do too much. I'm still going to take it home and let my mom decide what to do with it. Thankfully, I have other stuff I made previously that turned out better.

I have 1.5 loads of laundry to do and then I need to pack for my trip home. I'm going to church tonight and I hope to be in bed around 8:00 p.m. and get up around 3:00 a.m. so I can get on the road around 4. I'm trying to get to my parents' for dinner so I can celebrate my niece's b-day with the rest of my family. This should be interesting.

How fun WIP!

Me, kinda pissy thank you very much. I get a weekend without kids to play with DH and run to my heart's desire and I flat out tweak my back. 1000 mg of ibuprofen and 2 glasses of red wine (yup, middle of day) and I feel like I can sort of walk. Gah. I am way too young for this people/

I am a big breast cancer (well, any other cancer too) supporter. Have some good friends that always do the Chicago 3-Day and a friend that does 3-4 per year (also a survivor). LOVED this pic from her facebook and decided to share. Have a great weekend peeps.

Fun: Ended up hitting up two running stores today. Bought two amphipod bottles, more body glide, some more washing detergent and a new Nathan waist hydration belt. Also bought two sets of Georgia Tech pacifiers for friends expecting little ones soon. (both are GA Bulldogs fans, so that should be a riot.)

Grabbed some groceries and took a fruit cup to a surprised and appreciative dad, as he was working outside in this ridiculous heat. .

Not fun: Spent $$ I shouldn't have. Sometimes I forget that my budget is much tighter than what it was a year ago. Meh.

I am Sofa King tired. Got to bed waaaay too late last night. Woke up at 4am because of a f'd up dream and couldn't fall back asleep. And apparently my alarm needs new batteries, because it did not go off at 6am as planned. So this morning was a HUGE rush to get the car loaded up, get to the sale, unload & display stuff.

Fun: Of the 6 of us, I was today's top seller!!!! And Julie said more of my stuff sold at the gallery, so at the end of the day I was able to unload more stuff on her so she can re-stock the display of my work.

I might be able to tolerate watching a game in these circumstances. Might. They waste entirely too much time with all the bs in between plays.

Congrats on the great sale day, Kath. I'm going to set two alarms tomorrow. 3:00 is ridiculously early and if one alarm doesn't go off, I'll still be asleep at 10.

Yay for big sales katholeenie!

Well today's weekend plans went kind of belly up - we didn't go to the fair, and I didn't realize that the band was playing an HOUR away from here and neither C nor I felt like spending 2 hours in the car to get there and back, so we rented a movie instead. The Runaways. meh, it was ok. Nothing I'd go out of my way to recommend.

C got the new tattoo. It looks great!

I'm back from my trip with the kids. It was nice seeing family, but really makes me want to live somewhere in PA for a number of reasons. It was really startling for me to see just how unhealthy my in-laws are. My FIL has always been not well, but my MIL's bout with cancer has really taken it's toll on her. Ugh, it's sad. I did, however, get to see some old friends and had a lot of fun with them!

Have a great day!
