Where is everyone?

I'm going to head out for a couple/few miles. Slept like crap, feel like crap, waiting for tylanol to kick in and it's not yet. :barf:

Greetings, all. My one-week moratorium of cardio/legs workouts ends when I go to bed tonight. Hopefully I'll feel better on tomorrow's LR after the break.

I didn't run today because I didn't have time. Now I feel like I'm missing something major, like I forgot to put on deodorant or my earrings or pants or something. Ugh.

So maybe today is a rest day. Or maybe I'll run after work. Yes, that could be a plan.

I'm running Not Since Moses tomorrow morning. It's a 10k race on the ocean floor, after the tide goes out. Should be very muddy and very fun. I'm travelling with a couple of people from here, it's a 5 hour drive. We're leaving at 4:30 AM tomorrow morning. Eeek. At least I'm not driving, I can nap in the car on the way to and from.

Clare that sounds like a FUN race!!

And we are in the same boat deciding on rest days. I woke up to massive thunderstorms this morning, so I went back to sleep. Today is supposed to be a rest day but I didn't run Monday's 4 miles and thought I'd run them super easy today. I have a 20 miler tomorrow and 10 miles on Sunday. I dunno, maybe today should be a rest day after all?

OK I need to decide pretty quick whether to run those 4 or not, it'll be on my home treadmill. blech.

I'll do an easy run this evening, then go for a long run tomorrow. Dunno how far. Like always, I'll play it by ear.

Good luck at the race, Clare!

Wait a sec. Does that mean that you'll be doing a cardio workout in bed tonight? Hey, it's Friday!

Okee Dokee, then.

Confession time:

I've really really let things slide as far as my health and fitness go. I've put on too much weight for my frame. I've completely neglected exercising. The one saving grace was that my job kept me on my feet and go go going for hours at a time. A few months ago that changed. I've been placed on a special project as business analyst and the work is sedentary. Anyway. Now that my life has settled with a new house, a regular schedule and some permanence, I thought it was time to take on the responsibility of getting back into shape.

I bought a new pair of shoes. I've walked 14 miles this week, so far. I think my legs could run, but my back is not strong enough yet for it. I know this because by the time i'm finished walking, my mid back is yelling for mercy. So walking is the way for now. At least until my back stops complaining.

O. I also opened a RunningHead account to keep track of the work that I'm doing. I'm jumping in, Baby!

And then I walked Gus @2.

I think that's the extent of my time outside today.

Good Morning!

Hiya Winter!

Thanks for the thoughts, Maria and Mindi! Yesterday went really well and my brother looks much better than I expected him to, so that was good. His spirits were also pretty positive.

Duck, too bad we aren't closer, I'd love someone to go on long rides with up here! I was acutally trying to work out a month in Oregon with the bus but the logistics weren't working out.

I'll do something today, I'm sooooooooooo over this humidity, it should be done done done on Sunday. My legs weren't too happy with me yesterday, so today will be a little, tiny run and then if I feel like it a bike ride later. I did get a couple of new jerseys yesterday in Duluth and spent way too much time in the running store talking with guys there about running/racing. I'm dying to get back into the race scene, but my damn leg just isn't there yet.

Im back. Flew home on a red-eye last night. Haven't slept yet, except for maybe 20ish minutes on the plane. I can't hear out of my left ear. Had a GREAT week, ran lots -- especially along the beach path in CA (though my leg is still cranky). Rode bikes a lot. Reconnected with a HS friend I haven't seen in more than 15 years, and loved it. I need sleep. I drove straight to the beach, because my mom's having a yard sale for all my grandmom's stuff. I need sleep.

Hope everyone's well. I'm a little out of the loop.

I'll run some miles later today.

One giant Wahhoooo for Winter getting her fitness house in order!!!

I ran somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 miles this morning. I have no idea of paces or time or anything because the route I chose goes through downtown and the Garmin cannot get a consistant signal down there. So it says I ran 4. :)~

Oh, and add me to the list of OVER this humidity.

Morning all! Got out to meet up with 4 other girls and do the downtown bridges run - good times and a beautiful breeze almost the entire way. Ended up with 7.25 miles.

Colleen – what a cool sounding race, good luck!

Welcome back Winter and good luck getting a fitness routine cranked up again – the walking is a good step (hahahaha) in the right direction!

Sounds like a sweet trip, Lora - welcome home!

Duckie - anytime buddy, you come out here and we'll get out on the bridle path asap!

Do we have any other racers this weekend?

eta: Jen, glad to hear your brother is doing better than expected! It's hard to see siblings hurt/down/injured/feeling pain. Little sis #2 has a surgery next week that I'm quite anxious over.

Winter, it's too bad we don't live near each other, I'd walk with you.

Lora, I was just thinking about you and your trip this morning, wondering when you were getting back. So glad you have a wonderful time.

Jen, we might have a place for you to park that bus in the future. We're currently looking at a place with over 5 acres a few miles outside of town.

Winter, go get 'em!

Missy, I bailed on the 10k. I'm going golfing instead. I'm going to try to give the ankle the rest it deserves for a while.

Moe, Porter is doing very well now. His balance has returned and he's back to trotting around with his head up.

So, it wasn't raining and I got out to walk the dog this morning and thought, oh it's much cooler now, I should really get out and run that short run NOW. So I got back home and threw on my running duds and got out there but OY it's still humid. There's supposed to be a cold front moving in this weekend. 'm hoping it arrives before my 20 miler tomorrow, because this humidity heat combo just zaps my legs. I only ran three this a.m. and I realize the first three miles of any run I do are usually the worst but my legs felt dead. wah.
