Greetings. I figure with the temps and humidity as high as they've been lately, 'harder to breathe' was quite applicable.

I'm about to go knock on my neighbor's door to see if she's still interested in a running buddy this morning. She'd better be! :) I got up for this!

Good morning. From last night's thread:

Apologies, my friend!

All that traveling becomes expensive. I wouldn't travel a long way for, say, a 20 mile race. Or for a Half Marathon even. My goal is to run a Marathon in every state, so I don't want to "waste" the time and money and effort to travel all across the country to run something other than a Marathon. So I don't blame you at all for feeling the same way about your Half Marathons. I wouldn't call that "dorky"...

Anyway, fort hose who missed it, I finally bit the bullet and signed up for that marathon in Utah for September. At least I know what my next one will be.

Good luck to the naked people in Minnesota, and anyone else racing this weekend. I'm heading out the door for a couple hours...

I was up early and did pilates, which was very needed. Getting ready to do some Naked Running in a couple hours with MN Peeps and Chris McDougall, Scott Jurek and Marshall Ulrich! Fun stuff.

And now I'm back from my run. 13.6 miles in two hours. It was a beautiful day for a run! (Cool and cloudy). This was the farthest I've gone since the 50k, and I kinda wish I could've gone longer. But I needed to be back home to stay with the kid while DW goes off to work for a few hours. (On a Saturday, yuck!).

Oh by the way, there's a Tot Trot in the town next to us tomorrow. It's not attached to a 5k or any kind of "adult" race. It's just a kid's thing. So I'm gonna bring DD for her second race. Hopefully she doesn't get bored of these...

did an interval run this morning with 2 miles at GRP, 1 mile at HMP and 0.5 mile at 5k. It all went good despite the humidity & heat. I was so sweaty after. Did a lap with the FANS crew and ended up with over 10 miles for the morning.

I'm 5'6 (I used to be 5'7", i'm shrinking) if that gives you a clue from the picture with him. Though with all that hair of his, it's hard to tell exactly! He was skinnier than I pictured him. Which I suppose is bound to happen when you run a gazillion miles.

P.S. New York folks! The Naked Tour is coming to you next! Highly Highly recommend. I can't say that Scott Jurek would be there, I think he was a special guest at the Minnesota event?

Yeah, I totally geeked out. Had them all sign the book. Plus this teenage girl who was so inspired by the book that she started training, going from 0 miles running to 5.5, JUST for this event. In her Vibram Five Fingers, which she initially got and wore to weird out her friends. But then she read the book. So I had her sign it so when I see it I'll remember her inspiring little story! I know, I'm a dork.

Oofth. 10M run + (since mom has now commented three times that I've 'gained a little back from last year') I added a 3.1M walk. Ouchies. Finishing in 87 degrees was NOT fun. (actually starting at 7:15am at around 73 degrees wasn't particularly fun either). Nor was having to stop and walk 2x during the run because two dogs were loose and chasing all sorts of stuff. (I ran into the same damn dogs a mile down the road from where I first encountered them!).

Goon! Awesome fun pics! What a cool event! Yay to all the MN runners who participated! Oh - and Brandy -- I fitted your twin for shoes yesterday. No joke. She sounded and looked just like you! Although, she was bigger than you. But it freaked me out how much she could've been related to you.

This is so weird. In the last 2 weeks, I have had 3 different people say something quite similar. There was one in Madison, one in Iowa and now Jersey. I must getting cloned or something.

12.2 miles this morning. It was warm and after a little over 10 yesterday and then being at FANS for about 8 hrs total yesterday (and to 1230 am), I was feeling a bit rough for the first little bit. I did 'warm up' and started to feel good. We ran along the Minneapolis Marathon/Half course. What a brutal day out there. I think the winner was high 2s. At 13 miles we saw at least 15 people with the 3:15 group. On our way back and at 20 miles, there was only 1 guy with the pacer. The field was just ruined by the lack of cloud cover, higher temps and humidity. It was so hot this morning that after 8 miles, I actually ran sans shirt. I have NEVER done that in public in daylight hours. It felt amazing! Finished with an average pace for 9:40. I'll take it. highest mileage week in well over a year to boot at 56.9!

I am up for a nap and then I am lifting at 5. that will be rough.
