Morning Kath!

Spinny rides make me . I do, however, LOVE rollercoasters.

Wow.. that's a HUGE swing-ride. I could dig that as long as it doesn't do free-fall stuff straight down.

Oh yeah.. fitness... today is my motherload day. Bi/Tri/thigh/butt/abs/core + run. Oiy. Guess I should get a bit of that out of the way before work.

I'm don't do swing rides.

2.5 miles done with a few strides. Still a tiny bit early to be positive, but weather is looking sweet for Grandma's on Saturday. (mid-50's with a 15mph tailwind). Hope it holds!

Good runs to all.

I'm on the mend from this nasty cold/strep throat business.

We held our Fiddlers Youth Run and Fun Run on the weekend. 1400 kids turned out for the Youth Run, it was a blast! Lena and Evelyn both did the Tiny Tots Dash. It was Evelyn's first official run and she did great! 283 came out for the Fun Run the next day, which is a huge jump from previous years. We started learn to run programs here and because of that a lot of people are taking up running, which is nice. I got my water stops set up in time to take part in the 5k and ended up coming in 13th (2nd in my age group) with a 25:13. That was a PR for me! All the fasties did the 10k so that's why I finished as well as I did. hee hee!

There's a run this weekend that I'd really like to do but unless I find someone to watch the kids I can't (DH is off doing father's day stuff).

I was supposed to swim in the outdoor pool this morning, but the 20% chance of showers turned in to a raging thunderstorm. So, I went back to bed. I have a gym bag packed and will try to get something in later today. I'm sore from yesterday's weights, so I need something to start working that out.

Morning all! I couldn't pass up such a gorgeous morning so I got out for an easy 5 miles. Tonight is the Corporate Challenge in Central Park, which is a huge clusterf#@$ but still fun to run with and against co-workers. We should have some decent weather too!

Sounds like great conditions, Cindi!

Colleen - what a great turnout! Glad to hear you're feeling better.

Hi all - 3.7 miles yesterday under somewhat warmish conditions (low 80's starting the run) and fewer walk breaks. Plan to get out there again for about that distance after work early evening.

Cindi - good luck at Grandma's; I think things are looking primed for a great race

Sounds like you had a really great time Clare - hope you recover quickly from your strep

Good runs, workouts and/or rest days to you all!

I loved Cedar Point when I was in HS, we even did our senior class road trip there on opening day of 1983. I think our group was one of the first on the Demon Drop when it opened. I wish we had something similar in Oregon, maybe over in the Bend area.

Wow Brandy, you are getting super speedy! Any more weight loss updates? I have officially reached the 10 lb. mark (10 lbs lost, that is).

Last night's swim was a.w.e.s.o.m.e. In preparation for my race this weekend, I had to do three 450 yard (1/4 mile) intervals. They were the longest swim intervals I'd done to date, and I did them all at about 30 seconds faster than I was expecting. Now I just need to stay calm on Saturday and not panic in the water, and all will be well.

Short brick this morning, also race prep. Easy week, all things considered. I'm scared of what next week will bring, however!

I know I missed people. Sorry. I'm doing a brick this afternoon and then taking my nephew to the group run. After last week's 98* hotfest, he said he was done. I asked him yesterday if he was going with me today and he said, "Of course!"

Congrats on 10 - I cannot imagine where you were hiding that. I have been off "dieting" for about 2 months now and have remained steady. I am going to start up again though to drop another 8-10 hopefully by August for the whole marathon thing.

That's the one. Are you doing the women's sprint next week? I thought about that one, but a few friends and I did Parvin last year and wanted to do it again. The swim in the women's race next weekend looks much nicer than the algae-filled swim I'll be doing Saturday!
Congrats on the maintenance. I think that's even harder than losing. And where on earth are you finding another 8-10???
