morning all

the move went well, splitting the grad parties went well and I didn't sleep last night so I'm going to be right punchy by about noon today. My head is already screaming. blah.

Good morning, all....

Well, from the sounds of it, I'm not so sure "good" is the right word for some of us...

I also failed to sleep worth a carp last night. Was up late working, and then just struggled to sleep. Meh. I have nothing to complain about. Normally, I sleep like a champ whenever I want to, so . . . I'm gonna stop talking now.

Fun - Volunteered at a race this weekend. Well, Theia volunteered. I was there with the dogs, and ended up standing at a fork in the road near the finish line, just guiding the runners re: which way to go. ANYWAY... Beaker and Moe were there, and we got to see them before, during, and after the race, and then even got to go have breakfast with them.

Had a blast. So great to see them both!

OK -- that is all for now. STACKS of work on my desk, so I need to jump back into it!

Happy Monday, all....

Hi Dave!

Good morning! I had a busy weekend with family, but in my neck of the woods this time. My brother-in-law graduated from my university yesterday with his BSN so he and my sister and the kids were down for the weekend plus his mom and some friends were around too.

Today is the start of our summer work hours, which meant I had to be in at 7:30 instead of 8. You wouldn't think 1/2 hour makes that much a difference but it does. Fortunately, I was so tired from running around all weekend that I went to bed earlier than normal last night and slept pretty well so it wasn't too awful waking up early today. Let's hope that ease lasts all summer.

I need to start today all over again.

I realized after I came in from setting up the sprinkler and taking out the garbage this morning, that I had only buttoned my pants. I didn't zip or clip them so they were pretty much hanging open as I traipsed about the yard.

Then, I walkedin 10 minutes late - along side my manager who was ALSO 10 minutes late, but she's the manager and I am not.

THEN, I was trying to eat my greek yogurt and fresh strawberries at my desk, with a fork, and...

Hey folks!!!

Good old Monday...sigh...

Had a great weekend, Moe was visiting!!! Had dinner with her and Solar on Fri night (where I was replaced in my son's eyes by "the pretty ladies in the house" ) Then as GoV mentioned, I got to spend some quality time with Theia , GoV, and the doggies on Sat. Sat night was a tour of some Philly bars and a super late bedtime for me! But such a wonderful weekend!!

Lots to do this week, DH's cousin graduates from HS Thur so pray for no rain so we can go (if it rains they move it inside and then the crowd is super limited), then I have to make cupcakes for her party on Sat and get the kids pics done on Sat morning. So really, early in the week is fine but later is hectic!!

Bard a half hour can make a HUGE difference if it is at the beginning of your day!!!

Big G I ate my soup with a fork today (ended up being fine cause most of the liquid boiled over in the microwave so it was more like a stew, fabulous! and will tackle my yogurt later, wish me luck

Hope everyone who travelled this weekend had a blast and made it safe and sound!

Hi all - eh, it's Monday. Not much fun to that at all

I did get an e-mail last night from a longtime friend who's in the States from the land Down Under - we're definitely going to try to get together to compare notes sometime soon (I think the last time we chatted in person was over three years ago and a lot has changed since then)

BigG - I was trying to figure out what the heck that you posted, I finally got the orientation right

Sorry to hear about the additional surgery on the ankle duck - is this the one last one (crossing fingers) for the forseeable future?

Sounds like a lot of you 30s had some nice meetups. Hope there will be some pics of all you fine folks down the road

Holy moly my back hurts.

Just put another coat of finish on the shelves and unloaded the kiln (which is what made my back madder than it already was). I'm torn about the glaze tests. They came out gorgeous in the re-fire but...... I'm not firing pots twice on a regular basis just to make the glaze work. It needs to work on the first try. :sigh: I wonder if I get a new kiln and can 'soak' them if that would help...

Soaking a glaze kiln = not allowing it to shut off as soon as it reaches temp. You hold it steadily at the firing cone temp for an additional period of time.

Olo...

wow! Have I been MIA or what! I'm not a hundred percent sure why my life got so busy all of a sudden but it has. It's all good. My boys are full of piss and vinegar, my job is super, and the romance is still blooming.

anyway...

Duck: Good Luck on the Achilles clean up.

BigG: I'll admit it. I thought you had some waffle cleavage thing going on until I realized it was your crotchal area. Much better. Personally, i'd rather have a stain on my pants than waffle skin on my chest.

Hugs to the rest of you! Good thoughts too!
