Ugh.. after a crap night of sleep (and I use the term sleep very loosely), I'm soon out for 10M. It's already 70F with 88% humidity, so this will be neither fast OR pretty. Miles are miles though....no matter how pretty or ugly, yes?

11M run + 2.1M walked for a cool down (70-80F temps & 88-62% humidity) = a slightly overheated Elizabeth. During the walk part, I even asked someone watering their flowers if I could just stick my arms (and subsequently, my head) in their water spray to cool down a bit.) Add a free chick-fil-a milkshake on the way home (Coupon of the month) for a tasty, yet powerful brain freeze. Yeeeeowwwwza!

Hola 30's! Quiet in here this weekend!

Yesterday's fitness was pilates and yardwork yardwork yardwork, it's never ending.

Today I'm about to hit the pavement for my LR, supposed to be 11 miles but that's a big jump from what I've been running. Last weekend's 7 miler with Crane was the longest I'd run since last October. So we shall see what happens. I'm fueled up with my Chia Fresca and a bowl of oatmeal. I'm ready. My stomach is not. I'm sincerely regretting last night's late dinner of brats n tots. ugh.

But it is beeyooteeful out so I'm going.

If I can make myself do it, I'm going to get the first coat of paint (uprights) and poly (shelf boards) on the shelving I finished yesterday. My back and hands ache though, and I'm not motivated to do it. The nap with Jack this morning was much more enticing. He's out sunbathing now, so my snuggle buddy is gone.

Hi all - well, I went for what felt like my first "real" run since my surgery, in that I felt like I was dictating the walk breaks instead of the other way around, and I was just feeling like, you know, a runner. Not sure what it amounted to distance-wise, but it was around 3 miles and I don't feel overtly sore today, so that's a good thing. Probably something similar today on the docket.

Happy fitnessing to all this week - sounds like a few of you have at least made a go of it already.

11 miles run and done. Wasn't as bad as I was anticipating, in fact, it wasn't bad at all! The cool temps helped a lot. My knees are a little throbby and the ankle that I slightly rolled doing yardwork yesterday started bugging me a little around mile 6, but nothing too bad. YAY!!! I feel like a runner again!

Afternoon all and happy weekend! My 10K yesterday was in cooler temps (60s) but with 100% humidity which killed me and made me want to puke up my breakfast. So, yeah, not ideal. Ended up with 8.8 mi (including warm-up) and a nice breakfast that I didn't want to hurl up, in my belly post-race. Today was a later start ...ran over the GWB to the trails in the Palisades. Lots of growth there which made me feel like I was running in a tropical forest including LOTs of chipmunks and two asshole wild turkeys (and a handful of what I assume to be not-yet-asshole baby wild turkeys ) 10.25 miles total on the trails and the bridge.

Big G - I made and drank my first Chia fresca today, not bad but def. an acquired texture, felt like I was drinking slime

Hey runners,

We did a 6 mile family bike ride this morning. Mostly 2 lane blacktop country roads with rolling hills. Tycho rode his bike for about half of it, and Claire took turns on the ride-behind bike hooked up to me and sitting on the bench seat on DW's XtraCycle. So basically DW and I were both pulling a bit of extra weight. You don't see a lot of casual cyclists out here, so we drew a little bit of attention from passing cars. I did see a few runners along the roads this morning, so I'm getting some confidence about returning to running out here after I have the surgery.

I've been walking on the TM the last few evenings, about 5k each night. Mostly I'm still trying to get the swelling down as far as possible in the ankle.

Congrats on all of those warm miles. Tim, I know exactly where that is that you ran now!

I LOVE jump around! GO BADGERS!!!!

Some great runs out there in the teenish range in hoomiiiddd..way to go, gang! I put in 10 today with a friend and it was OK--I just didn't feel my best. I know Nettie put in 13 yesterday and Sage ran a 5k. I'm sticking to the NO marathons this year plan, but it's been tempting since I feel my running is going well.

Yay, Goon! You are doing well!! I certainly feel more inspired since the Nakedness. ;) Sorry, Kath it didn't rock and roll, but maybe in the next few days. 3 is still better than sans 3...

Healing to both Moonie and Duckie.

I hear ya, Maria--I love chia fresca and am now a big fan of chia in general, but the texture in a drink is something. It helps me to think that i'm drinking kiwi...
