Wow! Wait a minute; I've got to go back and see if I'm on the right forum......................... Yep it KR. Hello Fred.

Yesterday was scheduled (taper) day off. Tonight will run a 6 miler with a bit of intensity thrown in for fun. Fri 13. Sat 6.

Let's see who else shows up.
Hello Tigger and Ilene. Ilene you're very observant or more likely Fred is about the fastest critter around and that was his Friday workout.

Fred when you run a hard workout; what does your hr come up to? 100 or so?
Absolutely...this tapering is tough.....last MLR is Sunday...12 miler......typically my legs are tired during the tapers....which is the case......so actually, I look forward to backing off a bit....but it is still nerve racking....

Good luck tomorrow...
Friday! Thank god its Friday! Ran last night; 5 miles and still no hip pain.
Time to start ramping my mileage back up cautiously.
1/2 hour of abs and crunches and planks.
Have a great day all, stay warm and dry.
I'm staying away from Tim and KS as I am nervous enough as it is without those guys fidgeting. Nice 1600's Tim.

Went over to the packed dirt track and did 5.5 miles walking with 1.6 in the middle at a slow jog. Took all my willpower not to keep running, but I won't know until tonight if my foot was okay with that little bit of exercise.

I had a monster workout yesterday at the Y after the elliptical. Plank-O-Rama, Thera-Band, Activity Ball and a ton of other core work. Little by little, I am making progress. Spareribs
Good day folks! Still 3 weeks away from taper, but I have sympathy for KS And Tim, and demand a little for myself when my turn comes.

I didn't run yesterday as planned. I wanted to save it for VRAA. So I did the 11 miler today, but it was actually 11.5 miles, starting at 85% of goal MP and ending at 95%. HR was around 135 for the entire run, although it was 136ish for the first 45 min, and actually dropped to 134ish for the final hour, in spite of increasing pace. That's just under 75% of my 184 max. Not sure why it's lower later on when pace is faster, but possibly due to increasing fat metabolism, or maybe due to lactate metabolism.

Also a mile walking warmup and a half mile walking cooldown. Legs felt very strong after the extra day of rest. I should have gone long today!
Hey Tigger - wish you were on my VRAA team again. Your statement made me laugh. You have sympathy for us so you demand a little when it's your turn. We have a sleazy tv lawyer down here who uses a line similar to that. "You deserve respect so we demand it for you".

Fred - You never said anything about max hr but your saying about a 25% drop from 35 to now. Have you lost 25% of your speed - abilities? I'll bet not.

Ilene - good news on the hip

Tim - enjoy your long run

Ribs - keep up the healing

13 miles this afternoon after a massage. 7:40 pace. Bored of training and ready to race.
Good morning all! KS, it was fun last time and we almost won!

1 mile warmup walk, 4 mile recovery run, half mile cooldown walk and 10 min of core stretching. The piriformis is pretty much gone thanks to religious stretching and the odd day of rest.

Hope the taper is going well.
Did nothing today other than putting a million race flyers on windshields for my club's upcoming race on 1/19. I did only 26 miles this week, of course almost all of it was walking and elliptical, but I am counting it. It's 70's here in Dallas today and tomorrow. KS, hot down there today? Spareribs
Pretty warm here Ribs. Almost 80 this afternoon. I understand they may have a 33 degree start in Houston on the 13th with wind and some rain. Disney is forecast 58 with 60 percent chance thunderstorms.

Who me, fidgety? Pshaw
Tim, What is your goal time. I have many friends there who are shooting between 3:25 and 4:00. Good luck. I think the weather will be cooler for the race. At least that's what the weather guessers are prediciting.
