This is the 40x40 thread for those who run at least 40 miles per week and are over 40. This is a great motivational thread and free passes are given out generously. If you do run a race and post a RR, I'll try to link it in here.

First time posting in 40x40. Ramping up for a fall marathon and my totals are just now getting above 40. Ran 42.5 with 16.2 long run two weeks ago. Managed 42.6 with a 30k (18.6) long this last week. The 2:40:38 for the 30k is a PR.

Looking at long runs of 20 and 26 and then into the taper so I should top 40 for the next two weeks also.

Saturday - 3 miles easy

Hi, dipping my toes in here for the first time. I've been managing to eke out just above 40 miles for the last month or so, so I guess it isn't just a fluke for me anymore. Oh, but the pressure to make the goal each week! Let hope I can manage to find the time to run enough this week, especially since I lose a couple days due to the holidays this week..... add to the mix that I'm really very slow.... but I have to say, I'm totally thrilled to be running so much, AND feeling really good!

Now if I only knew how to plan my miles ahead of time....

Welcome to Dove, Plugging Along & OrangeMat. We are generous with passing out free passes, and there's no speed requirements - if there was, I sure wouldnt qualify. It's OK to be short of 40 miles, we understand life gets in the way sometimes.
