<p>This is the 40x40 thread for those who run at least 40 miles per week and are over 40. This is a great motivational thread and free passes are given out generously. If you do run a race and post a RR, I'll try to link it in here.</p>

<p>Im asking in advance for another pass this week, my body's complaining a bit and asking me to give it a break (before something breaks), so I will listen.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Monday: Rest</p>
<p>Tuesday: Rest</p>
<p>Wednesday: weights and 10 miles</p>
<p>Thursday: 5 miles</p>
<p>Friday: weights</p>
<p>Saturday: rest</p>
<p>Sunday: 15 miles</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Total: 30 miles</p>

<p>I am in 2nd week of taper and will need a pass this week.</p>

<p>Monday - rest</p>
<p>Tuesday - morning 2 easy, evening 2 easy</p>
<p>Wednesday - morning 2 easy, evening 3 easy</p>
<p>Thursday - 5 miles easy</p>
<p>Friday - 3 miles easy</p>
<p>Saturday - 5k time trial, 21:27, a 14 second all time PR</p>
<p>Sunday - 5 miles easy</p>

<p>Total of 25.1 miles</p>
<p> </p>
<p>5 more days of taper then a marathon on saturday, i might get back to 40</p>

<p>Later in the week starts a mini taper for the Victoria Marathon</p>

<p>           4 miles pm <em><strong>- 5.0 miles recovery after working 10 hours</strong></em></p>

<p>Fri:  10 miles <em><strong>- 11.0 miles including 8 x 1/2m @ 7:00 pace with 8 x 1/2m @ 8:00 pace.  good strong interval sesson.</strong></em></p>

<p>Sat:  7 miles <em><strong>- 6.0 miles slow recovery pace, legs a wee bit tired from yesterdays run.</strong></em></p>

<p>Sun: 13 miles <em><strong>- 14.5 miles two big hills and multiple small hills, first 3 miles at a nice easy warmup pace then 10 miles @ 8:00 pace and 1.5 miles cooldown.  good run (hit the hills pretty hard).</strong></em></p>
