This is the 40x40 thread for those who run at least 40 miles per week and are over 40. This is a great motivational thread and free passes are given out generously. If you do run a race and post a RR, I'll try to link it in here.

Thanks Dennis,

Easy week for me, mini taper for Victoria Marathon on Sunday. Should be a fun race at a long run training pace. (well, maybe).. Only goals are to have fun and no soreness.

Mon: 3-4 miles - 3.0 miles slow and easy recovery pace, just stretching out the legs

Tues: 8 miles including 2 miles @ MP - 9.0 miles including 5.25 miles @ 7:35 pace, felt very good.

Wed: 7 miles - 7.0 miles mostly a recovery pace with 6 x 30 sec strides

Thurs: 6 miles - 5.0 miles in the am recovery pace, drove to Port Angeles in the PM

Fri: Travel to Victoria (0-4 miles) 5.0 miles recovery pace

Sat: 3 miles - 3.2 miles recovery, with Runrwife at her pace. good fun run.

Sun: 26.2 miles - 26.2 miles on my birthday, Victoria Marathon, 3:46:57, ran at a fairly easy pace (so I thought) with HR in the low 150's. Sun came out about the half way point and quickly warmed into the low 60's. beautiful day. pace was very consistant through 30K and I slowed after that with some walk/run the last 5k. I think its a challenging course mostly hills with very few flat sections (though the hill are not that high). Sue and I walked about 5 miles that afternoon and evening around Victoria. It was fun and I'm not sore the day after. Also got to run with Econo for the first 5K.

total: 58.5 miles
