40x40 Thread - Week Ending - 1.23.11

<p>This is the 40x40 thread. To qualify: Be at least 40 years old and run 40 miles per week. This is a great motivational thread and free passes are given out generously. If you do run a race and post a RR, I'll try to link it in here.</p>

<p>Well, my 18 day running streak finally came to an end, as I grudgingly took Monday off. Feeling the effects of overtraining syndrome a bit, though, so I need to figure out a way to rest effectively... don't like the way my hip flexors and hamstrings are feeling this week.... so I'll be asking for a pass this week, I think.</p>

<p>Mon..... rest (yoga only)</p>
<p>Tues.... 7.5 miles (TM)</p>
<p>Wed.... 5.5 miles</p>
<p>Thur..... 5 miles</p>
<p>Fri........ 30 min stationary bike</p>
<p>Sat......  2 miles (TM)</p>
<p>Sun...... 15 min stationary bike, 5 miles (TM), yoga (at home)</p>

<p>totals: 25 miles</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Hamstring definitely became unhappy this week, so I took it very easy. Found that running at a 2% incline on the treadmill helped, though (as opposed to no running at all!).</p>
