Since the 5 things about you people likely don't know thread has died down I thought I'd start something different and see how it goes.

Say 4 positive things about yourself. I know I am particularly hard on myself and not very forgiving of my own foibles either. I suspect I am not alone in this behavior. To fuel some positive energy, how about listing 4 things about yourself that are positive?

MQ - Didn't your mother ever teach you that when you start a forum thread about yourself, you are supposed to be the first to actually answer the questions? Sheesh.

1) I am a glass half-full-to-overflowing kind of person, always seeing that which is possible and rarely anything else.

2) If someone deserves a pat on the back, I go out of my way to do it -- because I know how awesome it is to have someone recognize hard work and a good job or have a total stranger say something nice to you in a pay it forward kind of way.

3) I am a very hard worker once I am mentally plugged into what I'm doing -- but I don't plug into everything I do.

4) I accept you for who you are and leave judging to others -- I wouldn't want you to judge me, so I don't judge you.

Matt - good at counting? You are supposed to list 4, not 3.

1) I am very efficient

2) I am not afraid of making mistakes and being rejected.

3) I am good at orniganization. Planning a family trip is my speciality, like ksurp.

4) I am persistent and don't give up easily once committed.

1. I'm very persistant when I have a goal

2. I'm very adaptful - I can work a problem with limited information or "wing it" be it a speech or whatnot

3. I can see the future - I can see forward X steps in a process and whittle them down to a few probabilities

4. I have large bandwidth (can handle many tasks/projects at same time)

fun thread! Focuses you on the positive. i should add "I am very critical of myself" of myself but that's part of #3 really as you need to know the failure points to see the future

1. After years of suffering I am finally taking control of my mental health issues and am moving forward. Part of the reason I got my tattoo that is now my profile pic.

2. When I commit to something, I do so whole-heartedly.

3. I would give the shirt off my back to someone who needs it more than me. (I have literally done this before!)

4. Dogs and children like me.

Okay, for realz this time:

1. I have outstanding focus on long-term goals (3-6 years).

2. I am a social chameleon, able to fit right in with a group of educated-introverts just as easily as a group of blue-collar-regulars at the local bar.

3. I see no shame in anyone (including me) "downgrading" their life (see "5 Things About You" thread) in pursuit of happiness, financial or otherwise.

4. I write well. That is amazingly helpful in life.

1. I have a talent for writing. I especially enjoy delivering humor with heart.

2. I'm fairly whole-brained. I'm able to handle both the creative and the technical aspects of life.

3. I live to be useful. This likely ties into my workaholic tendencies, but also includes being able to whip out a full roll of packing tape to share with complete strangers at the post office. Joy!

4. I make a point to connect with people who are often overlooked and try to brighten their day. It in turn, makes my day when otherwise impassive faces light up upon seeing me. I guess that means I can add selfish to the list if we do a thread on negatives. ;-)

1. I am trusting almost to a fault. I have been burned several times because of this. But, I still think it is better assume people are trust worthy to begin with.

2. I volunteer and give back to the community. I was a Director at Special Olympics and now volunteer EMS at the Fire Station.

3. I tutor and mentor. I have been tutoring since high school. If someone wants to learn and I know a little more then they do, I will help them. Computers, math, martial arts, triathlon etc.

4. I am very good in an emergency. From critical emergencies to longer crisis type emergencies.

Um, for #4, how about you're an amazingly supportive friend? Thor's stories attest to that.

Yep. And what's remarkable about Lord John is that he's an amazingly supportive friend to a lot of people. See #1, 2, and 3. He is "good people" taken to the next level.
