In my heat of the 200 meters at an all-comers track meet at Boston University. My unofficial time was 28.7 (clocked by a friend). Hopefully they'll have official results soon, but it looks like they screwed up my heat because they have all the times from the other heats. Bastages!

I was running against college women - 3 of whom were from Holy Cross. I drew lane 2, and the turns are real sharp on this indoor track. So I kicked into high gear after the first turn and made up the stagger quickly on 3 young women on my outside lanes. Going into the far turn, I felt the tank emptying, and the short girl in lane 1 zoomed by me on the final stretch like I was standing still. Still, I was hoping to break 29 today, so I'm happy with the 28.7

fyi, to put that time in perspective, according to http://www.lollylegs.com/lollylegs/t.../age_grade.htm
28.7 in the 200 is an equivalent performance of a 2:58 marathon. Not nearly as difficult of course. But not bad for an old guy (2:41 age-graded equivalent marathon).

You got beat by a girl????

Just kidding -- nice racing and sprinting, Arrojo! The marathon equivalency info makes it all that much more appreciable.

Nice race! I have never raced anything that short. I think my shortest race is 2 miles. I am very slow when it comes to sprints. It takes me at least 200 meters just to get this old guy moving.

Great race!
