Up early for the race. The 10k doesn't start until 8:30, but there's a 5k that starts at 7:30. English Jason and his wife are doing the 5k. Niether have really trained for it, but have a bet of some sort on it. Jason said he's going to take his cigarettes with him!

Anyway, I'm going to get there early to register and see that mess. Also, another co-worker is doing the 5k, his first race. He's actually trained for it. He got started after hearing me talk about running so much.

So good runs, rests and whatnot to all. I shall check back later, hopefully with a PR/puke report.

Morning, all!

Well, I got home late last night from dinner and bar time with my friends, and checked in here as I was trying to wind down to sleep, but it was a ghost town... Now I'm up to get a 5 ish mile run done before the heat rolls in at the shore.

Good Luck Voo! Can't wait to hear that report!
Can you send me some of your coffee, Scratch? I need some to wake up, but none in the house. Agh, you're out running already...

I'll check back after my run...

Good luck Voodoo, and enjoy the LR, Scratch.

No run for me today. Gonna keep an every other day sched for the immeadiate future as my back gets better.

I will be spending all day tending to the football fields for the local Pop Warner league. The fields we use are owned by a local business, not the town, so we take care of them ourselves. Lots of mowing, painting, weedwacking, tree trimming, etc. Then I have my own yardwork later. More mowing, and we had hail yesterday afternoon, so I want to stake some plants that were beat down.

Go Voo!! Enjoy the racing today!

Mornin' all. So, pretty ready for folks coming over today. Although realized last night that we have enough beans for one more pot of coffee. Which means a quick run to the store this morning. But, also found out last night we're having other folks over for dinner tonight. That one I'm not doing. It's gonna be steaks and cauliflower on the grill. Man territory there.

Hoping to get my run in at some point today. Probably earlier so I can have the time to myself.

Have lovely Saturdays folks!

Good morning, all. Yeah, good luck to Voodoo! I'm sure you're gonna land a new PR...

Best of luck to Lori, as well...

I basically did my own 10k yesterday. I've never competed in a 10k race, so I really don't know what my PR is. Last night I had intended to do a nice east couple miles, but I ran into a neighbor of mine who was also just going out for a run, and he asked if I wanted to join him. Well, he's a bit younger and a bit faster than me. And he wasn't planning on a long run today, like I was. So our run ended up being a bit farther and a bit faster than I originally intended.

We covered 6.24 miles in 52:15 (8:22 pace), so pretty darn close to a 10k. I know I could go a little faster than that if I were racing it, but not by a heck of a lot. And since my body was expecting an east run, this came as a bit of a shock. I suppose it felt good to really get the blood flowing. But I was dead tired when I was done...

Okay, y'all... everyone have a great weekend!

Ooh, speaking of 10k, that last post was my 100th, and now I'm a "10K Runner". Woohoo!

Anyway, I nearly forgot to share this... Maggie and I had another ultrasound the other day, and we've got the latest picture of our daughter. Still 3 months until we get to meet her face to face. For now, we have to rely on this composite 3D image....

Wheeeeee. I don't know why I selected that route, giving me that long uphill a little after 4 miles down. That was a test of will. Sheesh. Got over it, got to coast for the next 3/4's of a mile and then finally scramble up Little Bastard Hill at the end.

I'm all set for a nice easy recovery week ahead now. It was a good week, ran my best 5K so far and today had my longest run yet.

I did 10 this morning. The first 5+ were awesome, plowed up the hills, enjoyed the nice cool morning, etc. The rest was tough, its an out and back and lots of rolling hills but they are much steeper on the way back. Stopped at the general store at mile 8 for a SmartWater then crawled the last two (anyone ever see a 90 yr old man run, I imagine that's how I looked).

Good luck Voo!

Lori-I knew there was something I liked about you (on top off all your other amazing qualities that is), I am a Cotton Candy whore! I love all thing cotton candy. I have cotton candy chapsticks (ok, it was DD's and I stole it)and cotton candy perfume (well its not really cotton candy but it smells like it)! DD had some last night at the carnival. I was very good and only had a little tasted.

Moon-hehe didn't even think about the Saucony, sauconRunner thing. That is funny. I live in Lower Saucon, thus the username.

OK, showering and packing so I can get my butt on the road to Deleware to see Miss Alexis.

Later taters.

Quick morning to you all - starting up OT here at work, so I can't dawdle too much. Will get out of work 12 noon my time; will head back to my car so I can either get some miles on a nearby greenway or head up into the hills (the same ones that had the huge fire 15+ years ago) and get some trail running in.

Good luck to you Voo and Beaker!! Can't wait to hear some RRs from you two.

Heather - I know somewhere in the back of my head Saucon refers to where you live, but for the life of me, whenever I see the name, I always think shoes first.

Bob - congrats on your unofficial 10K (I think you can break 50 easy myself) and your daughter is looking beautiful. How's Maggie doing?

sleepy Saturday mornings to you all. Nothing much on the agenda today I don't think. I have to cross train then go walking a 5k for my c25k off day. Other than that it's gaming, computer and tv for the day I suppose.

Good luck to all racers today. Congrats on the new daughter Bob!

I fully intended to go to the 8am Spin class this morning. DS, however, has been having all kinds of nighttime issues and I was up much of the night and he gt up for good at 5:45 am. I am needing some serious help in dealing with this, but I can get that from a parenting board.
Anyhow, the upshot was that I got dressed for Spin and DH got up to take over but, at 7:30 when it was pack-my-towel-and-leave time, I realized that I just didn't have anything left in me, and I went back to bed until almost 10.

I need need need to get some exercise at some point today, but I feel loads better now.

Whew! That was a good one. Went out for 5, ended up doing a good 6 miles instead. Took it east, didn't pay attention to the watch or my pace, other than keeping it comfortable. Felt good.

Hey, Bob (and maggie) your little girl is super cute already

saucon - I work at the Sea Shell club.
