Helllooooooo challengers! What is going on? I had my best week since week 1, good activity levels, and minimized the bad food decisions.

One of my better food moves was on Saturday. I usually cook around here on the weekends. My DD suggested hamburgers for dinner. Hot July day, hamburgers did sound good. Made them with 50/50 ground beef and ground turkey. Saturday was also our CSA farm pickup, so I added purplette onions, fresh garlic, some garlic scapes, fresh parsley, and sage (plus salt and pepper) to the meat. Everything but the meat and s&p from the farm. Burgers we about 1/4 pound, and with all the other flavors, was more then satisfying. Had corn on the cob and a salad (also from the CSA) for sides. Yummy, satisfying, and letting myself indulge a bit, but not go overboard.

oooo Litch, that dinner sounds divine! I already ate breakfast but now I'm feelin' hongry again! I have GOT to make it to our Farmer's Market next Saturday!! It just conflicts with my Long Run, which will be a 17 miler next week. <gulp> notreadynotreadynotreadynotready

So I just weighed in and am exactly to the decimal point the same as I was last week. If my co-worker hadn't weighed in with me and showed a difference from last week I would have thought the scale was broken.

Made horrifically bad choices this week. It seemed to be a binge week all around. I spent a ton of money, ate a ton of bad food and missed TWO runs. Somehow, despite all that, I was able to pull out a maintain. I'm on a new medication that's supposed to have weight loss side effects, and that can be the only explanation for the maintain, but I didn't do anything productive to make it happen. Here's hoping for a better week this week.

Mmmm...Litch that sounds so tasty! I do love a good bbq burger!

I went camping on the weekend and ate a bit more than normal, but I also got a lot of swimming in and a 10 mile run. I ended up with a pound lost! Yay!

KP - is it the lack of schedule? That makes it so hard for me. I need the structure.

So.... is this week 5???

I am down slightly. Considering that DD is in town, and 2 things are EXTREMELY limited right now (sleep and gym time), I have been VERY strict about my food intake. A slight loss is still a loss!!!

Wow Litch that does sound like a good meal

Pretty good week for me. I thought I was doomed come Friday and Saturday as I had Burger King and McDonalds for lunch. It is amazing when you dont eat that stuff on a regular basis anymore how crappy you feel once you get done with it.

Was happy when I got on the scale this morning and I was down 1.2 lbs from last week. Mighta been better had I not fallen off the wagon Friday and Saturday at lunch.

Yeah, it probably is, although I've only got a couple more weeks until I'm back to structure (and I'm pissed now that I know what time the men's soccer team will be practicing [my responsibility in the fall] 10-noon and 5:30-8 pm, which means I won't get home until at least 9 pm. Love 12 hour days, plus I gotta figure out how to get my runs in during that almost two weeks.)

I also realized I do better when I track consumption, so it's back to the Daily Plate for me.

Litch - as a fellow CSAer, thought you might get some use out of this link. Where I found our local butcher where we can get non-hormone, grass fed beef as well as a bunch of other locally raised meat. Okay, more than just Litch might get some use out of that.
OK we had a couple of latecomers, but I think the more the merrier. We now have three teams of five. The three teams ALL are looking for an average weight loss of 6.45% to 6.56%. The total weight of the three teams is within 35 pounds. So I think this is a fair fight

Team A:

I forgot to weigh in this morning, so I'll have to check at lunch. I know that pre-race yesterday I was +1, but I was very hydrated at the time. I ate a lot post-race, so I hope I don't post a big number today...

Hmmm, that's what I've been doing -- or not doing -- too. Must be a youth thing, because it doesn't work for me!

Bad me - I forgot to weigh in this morning; can I use my weight from this past Saturday or do we want to make it a draw for this week?

Whatever the group decides - I've been eating, well, not great, but not not great. If you know what I mean. I ate summer squash with every meal this weekend, because I have an uber-abundance in my garden! That, plus a starch plus whatever other veggies I had in my fridge made for a pretty steady healthy choice all weekend. Oh, with cheese on top! But still - it was a bonus from smart food choices and using the food I had around the house instead of trolling the grocery store for some certain item and ending up with 10 extra unhealthy things in my cart. So plus from a good habit perspective...

My BF started dieting last week as well and he's known for his quick weight losses, so that might help motivate me to get my shit together about this!
