All that talk of onion rings last night has now made me want them. I don't even know when the last time I had an onion ring was., and worse, I don't know where to get good ones here in NC. Gah. Maybe I'll make them.

No QOD from me, having some "wake up juice" and thinking about how my day is going to go. I'll be back in a bit to see who's come up with one.

Good days and great runs to all.
Gah, I just got up. Wake up juice is being squeezed.

Good luck to SF people doing that marathon, half-marathon thingy.

I've got something to do today. That's right, go 6.2 miles. Let's go check that coffee.

G'morning Scratch, Jen, and everyone else still in bed!

I'm supposed to be headed out for my LR, but it's thundering like crazy out there right now. I'm seriously debating going back to sleep, but I think I'll wait for a bit to see if it blows through.

Good luck to Moon, Cactus, Pacer, Maria and her sisters in SF this weekend! Also to Craney for her 8K, and anyone else who's racing!

Morning all...evening here. Just back from 6.2 on the hotel treadmill in 51:09. I'm sweating like ten whole men!

We spent all morning out on a shopping spree/sight seeing tour. Took a bunch of pictures. I'll post them shortly.

Enjoy your weekend.
Morning Super Friends
yes. i've decided we're all super heros today. enjoy the weekend, wear something skimpy and tight and go fight some crime...

good grief, its going to be a long day when i am this screwy before the second cup of mud.

I'm going to join new gym today. Egad. I hate doing that. You get the tour and stuff. Just way the hell too much attention for me. Kind of like why I won't go get fitted for shoes. I'm weird like that. You all knew this. Anyway once I get there, I'll see what kind of trouble I'm going to get into. Likely run and upper body stuff as arm day is also my favorite.

Doc I agree with jenny. Always happy to get martini pics or random texts. The occassional, "is this the real mandaroo?" always makes my day too!

Jenny I know where to get good onion rings in Ohio...... You can bring puppppppppppies.... yeah, I know. I'm relentless. Also. I say, "WHO THE HELL PUTS PICKLES ON ANYTHING????????" sorry. um. i hate pickles. they piss me off.

Moon they have a raisin bread monte christo at our resturant. get behind me devil!!!

Diane your kids got a cool auntie they can go spend a night with? Good sleep vibes to your house.

Hey all,

Go Racers Go!

I'm up early because I got some extra sleep last night when I fell asleep on the kids' bedroom floor after reading stories. I'm quite swamped at work, so I have been seeing maybe 50% of the threads lately.

QOD from the other day: No slammer time for me or any of my immediate family. I figure that's pretty good with 9 sibs.

Group run is in 1.5 hours, but the group is dwindling due to freakish injuries. I'm tempted to go run a few miles now while the household is sleeping...

Big hello to HH, Kris and Duck as well as others who will follow!!

just a quick check in before I head over to my brothers to help shingle his roof...I have never had the pleasure of shingling so it is all learning for me. SIL's cousin does it for a living and it sounds like all a stooge like me will do is get in his way. very small house so this should be done at the end of the day easy.

mentioned yesterday was my first double...I was beat last night at softball..legs were heavy...luckily I was horrible at the plate so I never got on base and had to worry about running! good day everyone

Thanks for all the good tooth and sleep wishes.
Kid slept. I woke up twice with tooth pain, but wasn't up for long. I did go to Spin this morning, thinking that endorphins have pain-killing properties, and it actually did feel better while I was there.

Here's an interesting commentary on the exerciser vs non-exerciser approach to vacation that had come up a week or so ago. Next Saturday, we are headed to Cape Cod for a week. Last year and the year before, I could just put on my sneakers and go running, but this year I can't because of the stress fracture. So, I said something to DH about "What will I do without the gym for a week?" and his answer was, "Oh, I dunno, maybe relax?"

Dude, when in the last 2-1/2 years has not exercising = relaxation?! I get worse when I don't exercise, not better. I'm actually planning to see if there's a Y or a gym I can do day passes to, but I really think that's going to be an unpopular plan.

A fight has broken out in the other room. Must go referee. Good luck to all racers! Health, happiness and relaxation to everyone.

Morning 30s!

I got up too late...now I don't really have enough time to get in my run (4), get ready, get over to KJ's and head to the Danskin Expo/Info sessions/Check in. I can go later. Or count 2 hours in the water tomw as a workout. There's no way I'm going to be ready for Philly...there's always the 8K.

At least the extra time in bed was worthwhile. Did I really just type that?

Tim, I am dying to see pix.

I like pickles. A lot. Exc sweet ones...those are just wrong. But I love dills, half sours, spicy. Even those little tiny french pickles that make me pucker. And I have since I was little. Family lore goes that when I was 2, I would stand in front of the fridge and say "apikoo" until someone gave me one.

But we can agree to disagree, yes?

I had very good company, a fun drinky, and delicious cake last night for my birthday. I can't believe I'm freakin' 39 though. Holy AARP status, Batman.

Good luck weekend racers!!!!

I'll check in later...

morning.... rubs eyes.... grumble......still half asleep....

Have fun racers.

The Simpsons movie was good. The crowd laughed throughout. I almost had a "Homer choking Bart" moment. I knew the crowd would be filled with all ages. Sadly right behind me were two early teen boys who kept yelling the same group of 3 "catch phrases" that NOBODY laughed at but them. One guy on their row finally yelled at them "shut up and quit acting like 4 year olds". They quieted down for a little bit after then. I simply wanted to reach over the seat and grab one of them with the Homer choke hold and shout "why you little!".

Sometime today I hope to complete c25k week 6. It will be a 25 minute jog with no walking. I am back to the walk free part of c25k. That cool by me. Makes me feel like I am finally getting to actually running. So if all goes well I will be working up to 2 to 3 miles of running each time out at the park. FINALLY, almost (lol) getting there.

So I took your 'be a super hero' advice...and just put my underwear on the outside of my shorts (it's too hot for pants), threw a bed sheet around my shoulders, and tried to stop someone from double parking in front of the house....

...all I'm sayin' is that I probably won't be let back into the Hall of Justice anytime soon...

Super friends:

that reminds me...the other day I was walking Penny and I saw my neighbor with her son and the 2 daughters of another neighbor. The boy was in a ull Batman costume, and the little girls had "capes" (cut up t-shirts) around their shoulders. I asked them, well, what are you guys? The littlest girl (she's 5?), said, "I'm Bat Girl, and Maya is Wonderwoman...because she's always wondering about stuff."

Morning Gang!

SuperHero day eh? I'm sure I've got a bra with stars on it around here somewhere. . .

Happy week-end to all!

Diane DH is convinced that my meltdown on Thursday is because I didn't exercise, "Rest days are hard." Want me to have mine call yours?

Maureen My grandma made the best dill pickles ever - she would always make a little jar just for me.

I'm just sayin'...

Morning, all!

Got 5 soaking wet miles done this morning. Not like the rainy miles earlier in the week, more like heavy, sweaty-like-more-than-10-whole-men wet. Darn humidity. Right, Scratch?

Diane -- vacation workout idea: what about getting a set of those dumbells that lay flat until you fill them with water? I think they have them in hand and leg weight form. I'm sure I've seen them in various stores... You could do that and walk (can you walk with the stress fracture?) or even use water bottles. Maybe a beach ball for a ball workout? Take a yoga dvd/tape...

Sorry, I just got carried away. Just thinking about some ideas...

So, Duck -- saw a O shirt at the coffee store this morning that made your name come to mind

Tim, sounds like your trip is going quite well...
I hate new gym tours, too, Mandaroo. Good luck with that.
Hey, Winter -- awesome bike ride home yesterday!

What should I do today? Hmmm, I guess I'll hit the beach again...

Yep. I'd say it counts as a superwoman outfit, too, seeing as she's been flyin' lately...

Did you wear the bra with stars, too?
