Morning all! Nice and early out here on the East coast. Eating some yogurt now and getting myself together to head out to NJ and get some running done. 22 miles or thereabouts for me & a VRAA teammate, so please send some good weather, good running vibes - won't cha?

Will check back later ...good runs to all! And good luck to Philly Tom @his 5K ...bring home the pie dude!

Good morning Maria. Have a great run today.
I just woke up a little bit ago, making some coffee now.

I'm aiming to go 7.5 miles today.
Today is one of those mornings that is so beautiful (almost chilly) that if your LR was Sunday, you'd go ahead and do it today.
*sigh*
i can't get shoes on. Hank, however, wanting to see how my toe was stepped on it with all 80# of himself last night. good dog.
I'm hoping that i'm only out like a week.

I did however get my schedule at school yesterday and it looks like I am in at 9:30 which is Kool and the Gang because I'll have no trouble getting runs in with the toe stepper before school. Then I'm off at 3:15 (40 min drive home...) so time to take care of pup play in the back yard and hit the occasional class at the gym.
I've decided I am very interested in pilates....

I need to grocery shop today (no yogurt situation at my crib must end soon), get some work done for my advisor and figure out how the hell i'm going to teach this year. Saw my room finally. Has a floor and ceiling, um...but that's all. Maybe we'll do it all hippy style and sit on the floor...wouldn't be the first time for this kid....

Scratch go go on your 7.5, dude.
Voo good luck on your LR, buddy. i think chipotle is great fuel....also in the pasta/bean salad area, i think you'd like that bean recipe i posted last week, i left the mango out because i didn't have any and added kidney beans ...makes me feel really good, post run.
GREAT RUN VIBES OUT TO MY FAVORITE CRACKER HEAD
QOD2: I've got to give a couple of talks at a conference in NYC in November. I am hoping *ahem* to head to Mammoth cave for some fall camping.

Morning my Pretties,

No run this morning. Maybe later. Hydration must insue....

Hugeantic soccer day today. At least 5 games between two of my boys, at that is only if they lose.

Good runs to all!
Safe travels to those on a journey. I think that counts us all.

Love ta love ya, Babies.

p.s. Merry Mary McTortle I had a great time last night. Thanks
That's tough being sidelined because of a toe, Roo.

The 7.5 miles is in the book now. Hoped to run about 12:00 min/mile pace, ended up with 11:46 min/mile as I did it in 1:28:08. The amazing thing was that my legs didn't feel all that great, they felt tired some still but I kept chugging away and was able to cover the last 2 miles at a good pace. Tomorrow will be a recovery run and then next week is an easy week to let my legs get all healed up after I've gone about 33 miles over these last 2 weeks.
And with a mighty crash, down came the C25K program and great was it's fall

Morning folks.... up and getting fueled (ok, cereal and coffee!) for the body pump class at the gym (group weight training basically). I will run 4 miles on the TM afterwards. I was gonna do it before the class, but then realized that would mean I'd have to be in my sweaty clothes or a while hour afterwards. Not comfy..

Meeting up with Ailarie and Radioyada for Beer Class at Taco Mac this afternoon. Woohoo!

Not much else planned for the weekend besides cleaning my bathrooms (yeehaw!) and the kitchen and cutting out about 50 ft. of laminating that Office Max did for free! (They are offering it to teachers every Thurs. through Sept!) Pretty cool actually, because it's the high quality kind, not the cheapo I don't even need scissors to cut it kind they have at school.

Anywho.. need to start getting ready. Class is in 45 mins.

Winter glad you had fun last night!

Mandy go for it! I used to sit outside my trailor classroom on nice days before they moved it to the parking lot on the other side of the school. Used to have a nice hill. Kids loved it! Bring some floor pillows!

Tom Good luck!

Maria Have fun in Jersey!

Later peeps.

Congratulations!
okay gang quick opinions frm any online.

my 4 mile race is less than an hour and it is freakin pouring outside at 57 degrees and there is zero chance of this letting up, in fact looking at the radar I think it may rain harder yet.

I have not paid yet so no money lost if I do not go.

how many of you would go run anyway?

oh and an important detail is I do not have any kind of running jacket that ois waterprrof to keep my body dry
Way to go Maples!!

Beth, enjoy your class.

Good luck phillytom!

Korbel: that's a tough one. Personally, I don't mind running in the rain, but you may feel differently. If you do decide to run it sounds like it will be a fun, wet one!
well, what's the benefit of running it Korbels? I wouldn't do it. Not out of wimpyness, but it just seems pointless. I like to enjoy running. I don't need to prove my toughness by running in a bad storm! It doesn't make you any more of a runner. Now if you just LOVE the rain and it would be enjoyable, then by all means go for it.

Thanks, Jill! Just getting my shoes on now. Well, when I stop typing! Oh wait! You meant the beer class!
Yep! But have fun in your other class too.
Korbels: What Beth said.

Mandy: Bummer 'bout the toe. I'm really looking forward to hearing more about how your school year progresses. Those students are lucky to have you.

Maples: Big ups! Very cool.

Maria, Kini, Winter, Scratch, Jill and everyone else: Good to see you!

Me, I'm just back from Spin class. What a struggle it was to get myself there. First of all, my hip has been twinge-y in that special, bursitis kind of way. (WTF??? I haven't even been running! Maybe overuse of the elliptical/Spin-type of motion?) B, I slept until 7:15 this morning and I need to leave by 7:40. 3, I just kinda didn't feel it. I drove to the Y, deliberating the entire time. I then sat in the parking lot and deliberated more. I actually pulled out of my parking spot and started to drive away, but then pulled into another spot and just got my butt in there and on a bike.

So, class is done. Day is be-yoo-ti-ful and I have to get out there and enjoy it. Right now the kids are watching The Backyardigans, though. You gotta have the rad moves if you want to surf Tiki Beach. Words to live by.

Kini - my SIL had the same attitude about kids as you do. She now has a 2 YO and a bun in the oven...

Weather - done (beautiful in the northeast today). Bring home the pie - a phrase I must start using more often. We will be going to a fair later, gonna buy some pie. Mmmmm.. pie.

WTG Maples - what next??

That was me on Wednesday, but I actually bailed. Good for you on getting it done.

Backyardigans rule.

Our HS Musical 2 party was a great success. We will see how tired everyone is later in the day. The ni-laws are coming tomorrow, so major clean up today. There is clean, then there is in-law clean, ya know?

Running - got my LR in yesterday, gonna get in 5-6 sometime this weekend. Maybe tonight after the kiddies are tucked in.

Enjoy your weekends folks.

Morning!

Maples, you did it!!!!!

Korbel, I've run in a race like that. I had a blast.

Maria, good luck on your 22. What did you end up carrying (the strap-on and/or the fuel belt)?

Gonna eat a little something and get on my parent's aerodyne for an hour while doing some laundry. Be back later.
Congrats Maples!

Im planning on striking a similar pose in 3 months on those very same steps

Quick check in before heading to work. Didnt get my lazy butt out of bed this am in time to go for a quick hike, but theres always tomorrow morning. Will head to the Y at lunch.

Hopefully its nice and quiet today at work. Im wanting to work on some drawings and if I dont get these ideas down on paper it just might not happen. Havent had the urge to draw anything in months so I figure id better not fight it

hey all - fly by - I need post run food. Just back from my 20 miler. It was brutal. About 9 mins slower than I ran this same route last week. But, I did some other tough runs this week, and my legs were tired. The best thing I can say about the run is that it's over and I scored big points for my VRAA team.

I'll check back in later. Oh and, Congrats to Maples! Way to Go!
Whenever I see a guy with really droopy drawers I want to run up behind them, grab the waistband on either side and yank them up to where they should be. What is up with such sloppiness???

It's not Mr. Gobbles, but still funny...

If you've got time I'll meetchu and Kriddie somewhere for a drink.

That's a good way to look at it. I didn't mean to make it sound like the company isn't stable. The company is financially secure, there is just a lot of crap going on lately, and my department has been stuck in the middle of a few pissing contests, which makes it really hard to do our jobs.

Oh, and I called the PBS lady yesterday but she wasn't there. Left a message. And I'm going to see Wayne (yarn shop boy who told me about it) today, so I'll see what else he knows.

Good morning, folks. Wow, what a beautiful day here in the NE!! I just came back from my long run, even if it wasn't as long as I originally planned. I did 10.6 miles, even though I was planning on 12-14. I felt great and the numerous beers from last night didn't seem to hinder me at all. I guess the route I ran just happened to bring me back home after 10.6 miles, and I left it at that.

Plus, there are a few more reasons why I'm not upset at the distance: A, my last couple long runs were a little more than the schedule called for, so I'm not upset at one a little less. 2, I ran a very hilly route (see elevation chart below) which hopefully makes up for some of the missing distance. And D, I'll be spending the rest of the day moving furniture around, so I think saving a little energy for that is a good thing...

Way to go, Maples! Even if you are an Ole Miss fan...

Frankie, I'd like to do that on those steps as well. I hope I still have the energy to run up them...

Korbel, I think it depends on whether you enjoy running in the rain. Persoanlly, I think I'd do it just because it would make for a good story to tell at cocktail parties. You know, just to show people how dedicated you are to your sport...

Maria, you continue to amaze me with the miles that you keep racking up. For a while, I was hoping that I'd be able to keep up with you in New Haven (you're still doing the 20k, right?). But I am 100% convinced that won't be happening now. Oh well...
