Probably should have posted this in the running thread - so here it is again.

Morning Gang -

No run for me today. DH heading up to our cabin, so I have kid duty.

But, I am going to sign up for Lifetime Turkey Trot, Crane. I think Brandy and Baggs are doing it too. I'm going to the store to register in person because then I get 20% off merchandise and I need new running shoes. (But it said register BY November 18, so I'm thinking I may have missed deadline; gonna try to sweettalk my way into the discount!)

Good luck to the Philly runners!

West Chester. http://www.briansrun.org/

It's a race that was started to help out with the financial costs for a high school football player who suffered a spinal injury. It attracts a fairly good field of runners, the top 4 times of last year's 10K were all under 30 minutes. Yipes, that's fast.

Taped up my heel this morning (so the cut wouldn't split open) and did the butt tape butttape!butttape!butttape! and then abs and a totally sucky run. Shoes have enough cush that it didn't bug my heel. YAY!

GOod luck Philly peeps. And you other racers too.

Hey exercisers!

6ish miles this morning with the group. One of my running partners has the bad habit of drifting over towards you until you're knocking elbows. I gave him a good shove today when he did it, I think it took him by surprise!

Went to the surgeon yesterday. He confirmed that it wasn't a regular hernia, and he recommended that I work with a PT before even considering surgery because of the possible complications. It didn't sound like this type of repair is in his wheelhouse anyways. So I'll get scheduled with a PT next week and give that a shot for a while and if it doesn't work I'll check into going down to UCLA where I know there is a doc that does this type of repair. I'm thinking that a fast (say 3:20) marathon isn't in my near future.

Crap, OSU just scored.

Good running vibes going out to Philly!!!!

Hey gang...
Just got back from a cool and wet 3 miles. It feels good to get out, but I am starting to wonder if I have it together enough for my 10K next week.

Duckie - Tough man, Take care of yourself.

Also, I'm not sure how often Philly will post splits for any of the races. Guess we can make it up as we go.
Sorry, I can't figure out how to post a table. I don't have adobe writer at home so that's out.

Feel free to copy and keep this updated tomorrow. I'll try to do some, given time.

I ran the Arthritis 10K in Portsmouth this AM. Finished w/a 44:54 - I was planning on ~a 48 minute race, but hit the 3M mark and saw 21:09 on my watch...whoops. So, I slowed a little and paced it out at the end. I had a (quite hot) blond trying to nose me out at the end but I managed to hold her off by a nose (she was 1st in her AG). I would have been better served following her in...yessah!
Good for 29th place overall (204 participants), 7/25 in AG. No Clyde division...I think I would have taken that. A relatively slow field for me to finish that far up I guess. Great course along the water.

Oh, and I wore the wrong shorts for the race - I didn't plan on it being so windy. ~38 degrees w/a 15 mph sustained wind (head wind the last 3+ miles). I thought I froze the frank - the mesh fabric didn't provide much wind protection. I had to run one handed for a while. Good thing there weren't any race photos being taken.
