Good luck to all our racers.

The site was completely off the map earlier today. I just got back some bit ago from my 5K race that I ran to and then jogged and walked back home. Much better effort today.

I'm just going to try to get this thread started and hope the site begins to function more swiftly.

All right, things seem to be moving faster. That's good. I just spent some time with mapmyrun and think the course I ran may have been a bit long, although it's really hard to say with certainty. I've got some errands to run and then I'll work on writing up a full RR of my morning fun.

Good Morning 30's.

I would love to catch up on the 30s Friday thread but I don't know if I'll be able to.

A blanket of get wells and happy running and racing to all of you. Lame. I know. I'm sorry.

Week One of the new job is done. Every day that goes by reconfirms for me that this is the place for me. I'm very excited about my new job. I'm still not yet actually doing the job, I'm still in training. Days one and two consisted of New Employee general orientation. Then we got shipped off to our supervisors for some more detailed training. Next week will be still more training. I don't actually sit at my desk until the 24th.

The new fitness center is AMAZING! They have two pools, a fitness pool and a lap pool, a rubbery running track, a pilates studio, a women's only studio. the lockers in the locker rooms are faced in WOOD. Every machine appears to have it's own individual TV screen, plus the big screen TVs that are up here an there. It's $25/month but if you go 10 times or more a month they knock $10 off your monthly fee. This is just one area of the place, not the best quality - I took the pic with my phone.

The kids are not doing so hot - DD went missing for 2 hours one early evening last week after she got into an argument with her brother. I called the police and everything. And I have a call in from DS teacher to call her at home this weekend. THAT can't be good.

Running did not happen AT ALL last week. With the kids needing my attention I can't run after work and there isn't time to do it before work. I'll get some running in on the weekend but I can't run a Marathon when I'm only getting to run on the weekends. Bah.

OK I have much to do and miles to go before I sleep so I'm off to get 'er done. Still unpacking and painting and such.

Happy trails all!

Good Saturday all,

5+ miles with the group this morning. 3 of us hammered the middle section, probably 6:50ish for a couple miles. My sinuses are not good.

Congrats on having a good race Scratch!

Off to work in a few hours. Fresno St. Bulldogs are coming to town.

Hey hey hey all! Got up and got my last 20 miler done early this morning. Ran 3 miles to the start and the rest with the NYRR long run training group. Nice morning. Started off a little humid but still in the 60s, stayed clouded over and even misted a little. Those last miles were cooled down further by a nice breeze. Maria loves fall! So anywho, I had a solid run. Ran with the 9/min mile pace group and kicked up the last handful of miles to the 8:30s. I did have a mild wheels-falling-off moment around 15-16 but shook it off and got back to business.

Duck - I was tailing a guy from Eugene most of the run this a.m. Love hearing about life out there and the races he's run. Of course this was all done by eavesdropping on my part - so no actual words out of me to get further info. I'm a dork.

Big G - sooooo happy to hear the job stuff is doing well. I hope the kiddos just need some adjustment time. So what are your thoughts on the marathon? Are you planning to postpone but maybe still run something shorter in Philly?

Looking forward to hearing how our racers do this weekend! Anyone know if Air Force has near real-time results posted anywhere?

Hello everyone! Good morning for a run, although today is my rest day so no run for me.

Great job Scratch! Glad to hear it was a better run. I'll be checking for your RR.

Heather the sauconRunner and I will be meeting up tomorrow morning for some mileage. I can't wait to break in my new sneakers!

I'm feeling so guilty because since I started running I have not had any sort of appetite for sweets, and this morning I ate 2 donuts from Dunkin Donuts. I hate those empty calories! But they were sooooo good!

Best of luck to all the racers today and tomorrow!!!

That and in the last couple of hours I seem to have the developed a bit of the shakes. Ive eaten today so not sure what thats about. Will see how it goes throughout the day.

Jill I can totaly relate to empty calories. I have been bad for a long time about empty calories, now I am trying to change that. Good luck to all the racers this weekend! Make us all proud!

I'm heading off to the Gator bar (well, one of the 4 official football viewing locations) to watch the UF-UT game. Mucho beer and wings in the forecast...

G'mornin' folks. I've been a bit AWOL for a couple of days. Slammed at work, and just not had the time to catch up during the day.

Congratulations on your 5K, Scratch! I'm looking forward to the RR.

Good to hear that the new job was the right decision, BigG! Bummer about the kids adjustments (they will adjust, kids are very tough) and the lack running. I hope we're still going to see you at Philly!

Good runs to Heather and Jill. J's family is not so far away from you guys. Maybe we can get together for a run some time when we're visiting.

Nice LR Maria!

I guess Timr and Pacer are running Air Force today? Good luck to them.

Got 14M+ glorious miles done this morning, with two bouts of tempo. Felt great the whole time, and my foot seems to be holding up. My HM split was 1:56:35. Whoohoo!

I hope you guys feel better soon, Frankie and CT Tim.

Good luck to your teams, Duckie and boB.

To those I owe emails and PM's, I suck, and I'll get back to you this weekend...

Good days to all...

Good morning friends. I got a little hammered last night and just woke up about 30 minutes ago. I missed the chat from the post race tent people. I don't feel like running either. Maybe later. Good job to our runners this morning, especially the racers.

Good afternoon!

Got in 11.5 miles today (more than the original 10 scheduled, but hey, that was the route our coach gave us). Felt pretty good, just a couple quick breaks for water. It was very chilly here, so I put a long sleeve tech shirt over a sleeveless shirt and wore it until the last 3 miles or so. It was sunny, but breezy and the temps even now are only about 60*. Tim and Pacer and anyone else at AF had some awesome racing weather! I could almost have been convinced to race it today. Last minute HM? Why not!

PFTW is to veg out. Gonna make some homemade chicken noodle soup today. I've left messages with 2 friends to come over and watch the Browns-Bengals game tomorrow and eat chili and cornbread. This is perfect soup weather and I love homemade soup (rarely buy canned soup anymore).

Big G- I'm so happy to hear about your job being such a good fit. I felt that way about my current job from day 1 and I haven't been wrong yet. I'm sorry your children seem to be having trouble adjusting. It could be that they think if they are bad enough, that you'll change your mind about the move and move back "home" ot at least send them to live with their dad (which doesn't sound like that is in their best interest). If things don't settle down, maybe counseling for a little while would help, so they could talk with someone other than you about how they are feeling.

Afternoon everyone. Will have to catch up on the Friday thread later on. I will finally be heading out for my 14-miler in about 30 minutes. It's nice when it's so cool outside that I don't absolutely have to do it at the crack of dawn.

Tomorrow, I volunteer at the end of a large supported 20-mile run on the lakefront. I will be passing out beer or shirts or both. Should be fun.
