Morning all.

Up early about to head out to meet my training buddy so we can carpool it over to the new running store. Looking forward to the group run and meeting some new area runners.

Will probably join the 7 mile group since it'll be my first run in 8 days!

morning Larry!
glad you are feeling better!

supposed to be really nice today (like 50's) and i'm waiting for it to get light enough to go run 3 with Hanker.

My calves have been really tight yesterday so mat was rolling a tennis ball up and down them (i haven't gotten a foam thing yet) so pretty soon Hank is watching. Then I get a doggie kiss on my leg. Then he lays and sort of snuggles with one of my legs and gives another one a doggie kiss. Hank is not a lick-er at all so that was kind of funny. Doggie PT or something. Indeed, it helped!

I'm waiting for the light to show up, at least the daylight will start showing up earlier tomorrow. Going to do at least 10 miles today I hope.

Also on the fitness plate, pull ups with 14.3 lbs and wall-assisted handstand push ups, submaximal sets as many times as I can fit in today.

I was sick earlier this week and then holiday festivities took over, so I've not been out all week. Won't get anything in today or tomw either....ah well. I needed to give the old bod a rest. Next week will be easier.

I was going to get up at 7 and go out for a run but every morning I wake up with a wicked sinus headache that makes me want to bail. I even have a humidifier going and its still dry!

Hopefully I will make it out later for a run but if not that's ok because I have 9.5 on tap for tomorrow morning on the trail followed by my dad's cranberry pancakes, can't beat that for incentive to get your run done.

I will be happy when it gets a bit lighter in the mornings. I will be able to do doubles at work then.

Happy Winter Solstice, everybody!

Eventually I'll hit the road for 17-18 miles. Seems to be a decent day for it...

Good Morning Everyone.

Just got back from a very easy 6 this morning, 17 on tap for tomorrow.

Larry, hope the run was fun with the new group. I'm a little too shy to join the local running store's group run. They do their long runs on Saturday, so I would have move things around a little. I just haven't had the courage to give it a try. Their faster group leaves early and seems to be small so I'm nervous I might not be able to hang, but think I'd be okay. I really enjoy running with others, it really makes the time go by faster. My 22 miler, all alone, this summer was way too much time to hang out with myself...I guess I find me kind of boring!

Back from the group run.

It was a blast.

They had about 15 people show up. Three groups went out (3, 5 and 7 miles). I went with the 7 mile group. We had about nine of the fifteen people with us. Ran a nice hilly route and stayed close together for most of it running in the low 8s.

Afterwards we went into the store where they had a nutritionist on hand with some new hydration products. Sampled those, chit chatted, browsed the store, was given some nice goodies (two t-shirts, hat, water bottle, socks.)

Looks like it's going to be a great group to run with and I plan on meeting them again next week and possibly during the week as well.

Good luck to the long runners today - Pacer & Bob, not sure who else.

Jen - at your pace I don't think you have anything to be worried about. I'm sure you'd probably crush most of them. Either way, the nice thing about the group is no one was running alone. Even our pack was split into three up front running high 7s, three in the middle at low 8s and a few in the back at high 8s. No one was left alone.

Can I say, it's a relief to hear I'm not the only one not getting workouts in this week? I ended up skipping my workout yesterday cause my day just didn't have a stopping point. And I had thought my cold had mostly worked it's way through me, but yesterday I got a resurgence of chest discomfort and coughing.

...And then this morning, I wake up with a full on sore throat and a voice to rival Kathleen Turner. So, if I don't workout today, I won't punish myself, I'm thinking...

Go Pacer! In the time it's taken for me to write about my pesky little cold, he's probably run another 2 miles. Can't wait to hear the results!

Good day to all - and those out and about running, I hope the weather is being kind!

Okay, looks like I won't get in 17-18. Maggie is starting to freak out about getting ready for Christmas. Cooking and cleaning and what-not. Happens every year. She doesn't want me to be away for that long, so I'll have to keep it short. She's giving me one hour to run before I come back and get put back to work. So I guess it'll be about 7 miles. It'll have to do...

Hidey Ho, Everyone!

GREAT day here in MN--warmer and a nice fluffy snow falling so I can't wait to go out for a run...festive! Like many of you, I've been really busy and then immediately got a cold when done with finals so last week was not a great running week. Neither was the week before... yikes...

It says 10 on the plan today, so we will see how that goes. I may need to have a Voodoo's "Man the F Up" kind of day.

Someone is trying to convince me to run Grandma's Marathon. Huh.

Melis

MN Peeps--I'm not sure if we will be around, but Winter Waddle... anyone? Is that the one you are doing, Baggs?

10k (6.22) miles in 46:29 - most of the run was right at my Marathon goal pace.

10 mile group run tomorrow and Monday... I might sneak in a few extra miles tomorrow, I know one of the peeps in the group needs to get 20 in, so I might keep him company (probably not for the full 20 though).

Jen. I'm like that too. I didn't even get fitted for shoes for like 2 years because I didn't want that much attention. Finally my doc told me to do it. The people at the running store I go to are so nice. i joined this week for the first time. I think i'm going to like it. Of course, he invited me to bring my dog and that wins him GIANT brownie points.
I would go for it. It'll make you feel all brave. At least it did me.

Back from a great 3 with Hank dog. My time sucked something unpleasant. Hank however, met one new Penny dog friend and played with another pup we've met before that was waiting on his man to finish some kind of speed work out. Was all good until the 2 dogs decided to run together. Uh. I can't go that fast!
Anyway, off tomorrow! Will likely do a monster puppy hike at the arboretum.
Life is good, folks!!!

Also... I missed what Pacer is doing. Is he doing 50 again???

Nothing but cross training on the agenda today. That is if I can shake of this amazing lazy vibe I am feeling now.
