Wow - two weekends in a row I'm up early enough to start the thread.

About to meet up with my neighbor for 10 miles or so. I've got my headlamp strapped on since it's still pitch black out. Should be interesting.

Last night was a birthday party and today we've got a Soccer Game today followed by a Little Gym birthday party. Tomorrow it's pumpkin picking. Can you say kids weekend or what.

Some thread yesterday.

Time to strap on.

Good luck to all the weekend racers.

Howdy, folks!

Just checking in before I drive to St. John's for my race tomorrow. The weather forecast for tomorrow has changed every time I check it. Right now it's predicting 50 degrees with scattered showers and winds of 20-25 mph. Here's the race's website if you're interested: http://www.capetocabot.com

Your weekend sounds like a lot of fun for a grown-up, too, LL! Enjoy yourself!

Gotta hit the shower and finish getting my stuff together.

Good luck to all our racers this weekend. Have a great day, everyone!

Hey all:

If I have 3 hours this weekend, I'll go back and catch up on yesterday

DW is out of town, so I'm solo with the kiddos. We are keeping our heads above water. That said, I should probably look into why the house is filling with water.

Off to a farm fest with the kids around lunch. Last year my nephew threw himself into a tub of water so I'm hoping for some sort of an encore this year.

DW will be home around dinner so I will hopefully head out for 10ish. Have fun today.

Back from 10.4 hilly miles. It was only dark for the first half hour or so. Stayed nice and cool the whole time. One of those "feel like I could run forever" sort of runs.

Just enough time to grab a shower and race off to soccer.

Good luck tomorrow Melanie!

Hi All!

No run this morning. My body hurts, anyway, so I think that's a good thing.
Soccer in the AM, 40th birthday party tonight. I am going to try to be on my best behavior for that, but as I told DH, I cannot make any promises.

Good luck to all the racers, happy weekend to everyone!

Morning all!

Dayum, yesterday's thread must've been a record for the # of posts!

Got in 2.5 this morning with 2.0 actually run! Straight! Woohoo! While the ankle/heel area feels a bit tight, it's certainly manageable. I'm a happy camper.

(though my quads and hammies aren't quite so joyous at the moment.. oof!)

Gotta hup outta here and start my errands. Have a great weekend folks, and good luck to our racers!

Good morning, all. Wow, lots of people got up early today, eh? It's Saturday, and you still wake up before 7:00. Nice.

Good luck to all the racers this weekend. And to everyone else, have a great run. As for me, wish me luck, since we're bringing the kiddo home today. It should be fun...

Then I have to make, without a pattern, a dress for a fashion show, out of drapery fabric. Oy.

LL I went to a Little Gym party last weekend! It was a blast. DS had a really good time playing on the mats, running around like a crazy kid, walking on the balance beams etc.

I managed 13.5 easy miles this morning it was cool but very humid here.

I'm off to take Jaeger on a 3 or so mile walk to get some extra VRAA points

Bob and 2Oh enjoy your weekends with your new family members!

Good morning everybody!

In case some of you missed it late last night, Winter and I had a ton of fun with a video conference via yahoo. We were both in the main kickrunner Friday night chat. After we thought about it we decided to see if we could get our cameras and mics working- well we did!

I'm so proud of us. We're so technology savy. LOL Seriously we just winged it and got it working. I got to meet and see her sons. I tell ya I would love to do this more often with a bigger group. It would be so fun having a group of little camera feeds scattered on your desktop. The only problem would be everyone talking on top of each other heh.

Winter did make me laugh when she immediately noted my Southern accent. She's got a great smile and is just as fun in person as she is on this forum. Of course Thank you for playing with me last night Winter.

In case anyone is interested, it is super easy to have one of these video conferences. You need a camera, a mic (optional but much more fun to talk) and yahoo messenger. You simply start a video conference and invite anyone from your friends list to join. Then you click on the webcam icon on your conference tab. That allows them to see you. There are options for "push to talk" mic and "voice activated". We found voice activated had more feedback and was slightly more noisy.

Also had a brief (30 second) conversation with Ms. Moe in yahoo last night. Nice to chat with you albeit briefly.

Ok! I have to get going to the football stadium. As I am a bachelor I am finishing my leftover pizza for breakfast and about to head out. I'm still nervous about being a vocal part of the broadcast but I am going to do my best and it will be fine. Gonna be a long day as the kickoff is at 1 pm and I have to be there at 9 am to get the feed going.

Oh last night I decided to perhaps give the Birmingham race in February a go! The marathon and half are on Sunday but on Saturday they do have a 5k. Also on Sunday there is a 5 person team marathon. That has potential for those who might not be able to make it through a full marathon but want to participate. It's broken up into 5k, 10k, parts, etc. I'm game for that too! It's a long way off but I would love to meet some of you and that could be my first 30 something get together. I'm pumped about it.

OK dang I am so windy (talking I mean ) this morning. I need to brush my teeth, grab my game info and supplies and head out.

Have a great day folks and I will be back late this afternoon. Happy racing, jogging etc to all.

Well, I got a Lessons Learned File run today.

Yesterday I went out for that walk, which was cool, I enjoyed it. I also did 10.5 miles in 3 hours.

My legs were dead today. After 3 miles I started taking walk breaks and after 5 miles I knew it would be better to cut short than try do what I had planned.

6.7 miles today. We'll try again in 2 weeks.

Drink.Drank.Drunk. Had a headache this morning.

Good Morning People! I was up early this morning too, but not for a run. I had a massage. Bliss.

On the drive there I saw a TON of runners. The weather here is finally SUNNY and gorgeous and I was mighty envious of those runners. I even briefly thought about bagging the massage and going for a run instead, but didn't. Good thing too, the massage was Awesome. Bought me a sugar free fat free extra shot hazelnut cappuccino on the way home and sat here chillaxin' and reading through the rest of last nights thread.

I hope to get an easy run in this afternoon in this nice weather. I have a birthday party to attend for my friend's 5 yr old daughter up in the Cities somewhere. So the afternoon will get eaten up a bit with that. Tomorrow will be a long run.

I love running.

Good luck weekend racers and happy weekend running to all!

For the past 35 minutes I have been cruising through Thursday/ Friday's posts looking for 2oh baby. Paige is beautiful! you are so blessed.

this 30's crowd is gooooodloookin'! and some of you are just down right HOT!

Mandy, thanks for the link on the blender, that's sleek, I likes it!

I have a moral question, I think it's moral anyway. So, (rolling eyes) ya know how I missed BQ by 15 seconds....It's been suggested I contact the BAA and ask for consideration in a number since I'm qualified to run the race physically and that missing was an error of my time calcualtions and not ability. What do you think?
Part of me thinks, why am I so special, I missed, too bad, try again. and another part of me thinks, ask, the worst they will say is no.

Morning 30s.

First off, I have to say to Mandaroo - Nice job Seawolves. They beat UAF last night 4-3.

Tonight's another night for the Nanooks to kick some Seapuppy butt!

Not sure what I'm gonna do today. There's plenty of things I could do, and should do, but I haven't decide which ones I will do today, and which ones I'll do tomorrow.

As for a run, probably 7 ish miles this afternoon.
