Morning!

Quick check in before I head out the door for 4 miles. I can still feel my twingy quad. Iced it as I slept last night! Woke up about midnight and I was still holding the ice on amazingly! Anywho.. it is better, so I'm hoping it was just a strain or something.

Just a small personal request- my father is having gall bladder surgery this morning. Can I request a few vibes for him? Should be no biggie (it's out patient!) but it still worries me.

Ok, gots to goes... the road is calling... and I can't be late for work!

Oh, Tonya- thanks for starting the weight loss thread. I plan on getting in there later today!

Half way there peeps!!

Good morning, folks. First of all, hugs to Theia and good vibes sent to Beth's dad...

Maybe the rain will let up today... Either way, I'll be heading out for 6-7 miles of hills this evening. Should be fun.

No more news. Have a great day, folks...

Just to start us off...this is bullsh!t:
Active's C25K Plan, only $19.95
Maybe it was good we came here when we did.

Ahem. Anyway, I ran last night. Again, quite east. According to my sched, I had to run 1; I ran 1.6. Didn't wear the HRM, but hr def lower.

Penny rolled in something dead though. That was icky.

I got the 2nd tutu made, and had the girls try them on last night...they looked adorable! I guess the tutus are itchy, though, so I need to line the waistbands with something...I'm thinking a little fleece should do it. Still feeling a little overwhelmed, but better about everything.

{{{{{Vibes}}}}}} to Maccadaddy, and {{{{{{Hugs}}}}}} to those who need them (and anyone else who just wants one!)

I'll check in later.

Good morning everyone!

My cold is almost gone! Yay!!!! I'm feeling 110% better, and I should be able to get in a run tonight

I need to bust a move now, so I can run Jaeger by doggy daycare, and then get to work.

I did start writing my Jay Race report yesterday, but it's a doozy, and I still need to finish it. It's hard to pair down 33 miles into a few paragraphs.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning all. I'm home again today. DD still had a fever last night, but the throwing up seems to have stopped. Progress!

I got out for 2 miles last night. Hammy was fine, but it was HOT. I'm not sure what the plan is for today. I need to find out the new class schedule at the gym or I might dust off some of the workout DVDs around here. It's supposed to be 95 degrees by the time I can run, and I'm not sure I have it in me. It was 85 last night and that was rough enough. We'll see.

Beth - hope all goes well for your dad today.

Bob - hope you find the right fit for a new job soon.

Moe - Glad you're starting to feel better. I hate the overwhelmed feeling - although I ought to be used to it by now! Glad the tutus turned out well. I think they do normally have fleece or felt on the waistband, but it's been a long time!

Ok, need to hunt down some more coffee. More later!
Hoping to hit the gym after work and then help a friend prepare a presentation for a research class! I love that geeky stuff!!!!

Beth Good vibes out for your pops!!!!

Gator never got to send you good thoughts on all the job happenings!

Good morning!

I woke up around 5:30 a.m. to the sound of thunder. Took a look at the radar and it was the first of a line of storms heading my way (training, if you understand that term). AND it's still supposed to get up to 93* today. Ick. I actually don't mind running in rain, but it was already really hazy last night and this rain will just jack up the humidity even more. It's a short run (mini-taper for this weekend's race) so I'm probably going to take it indoors again and do some other stuff after.

Oh. And I'm really frackin' tired this a.m. thanks to waking up so early.

Moe- holy crap! $20?! Just for the privilege of logging your workouts? That's insane. Shoot, all I did was print it off so I could keep it in my gym bag and then check off each completed workout. Come to think of it, that's still how I follow my training plans (I get personalized ones from my running store guys).

Beth- hope your dad's surgery goes smoothly. Two of my sisters have had it.

Oh, I failed to mention, I'm sick. I woke up yesterday with a sore throat, and it never went away and now I just feel crappy. Sore throat, congestion in back of throat, slight cough, nausea, dizziness. I'm at work, but I'm planning to head home pretty soon. Of course, there's not a senior person in sight here today, I don't know who I'm supposed to tell I'm leaving.

The only good thing about this is I'll finally get the last 200 pages of HP7 read. I've been making slow work of it and I just want to get to end now....

Beth - thoughts to you and your dad.

Frankie - thoughts to you as well, sir.

Voo - 3 different pairs of shoes for 3 work-outs yesterday?

{{{Theia, Ann and family}}}

(((my friend)))

Yesterday night. . . Had to pick up the car (which had been at the shop for over 3 weeks and still they hadn't started. . .) were supposed to go to the Brewhouse, went to Burrito Union instead (owned by same people so beer is good) SKIPPED the beer (DH did a serious double take when I ordered water. . .) was driving home realized we have no food in the house so I stopped at the grocery store, got home put away groceries, started washing dishes, DH wants to watch a movie but points out he has a 7:00 a.m meeting this morning so if I want to carpool (with my bike) I need to be completely ready by 6:20. . .

It's good to be here, at work, drinking coffee now. . .

I hope people are healing and doing better in general. I do have extra hugs again today if people need.

(((Maureen)))

Beth - good luck to your Dad. Gall bladder removal also means no more really fatty foods unless you want gastric pain (fried chicken is out).

The sale of CR to Active seams to have completely ruined what was good about CR. The Boomers from CR started moving over here last week when CR accnounced that the forums would be moving to active.com as well.

And no 30's thread ever re-emerged, so I was needling SRLopez that he owned sauconRunner a buck.

It is kinda sad...

Running - a 4.7 M easy\recovery run. Pace was under 10 mpm. Either I ran it too fast, or I am getting better at this. maybe a little bit of both.

Good morning all!
Nothing new going on here. Feeling like I'm being pulled in a million different directions right now. Gotta hit the gym and unwind.

maccabeth: good vibes to your dad

moe: I poked around active.com about 2 months ago and decided I don't like it. It's no surprise the c25k is for sale over there. The site seems to me more about making money than anything else.

beaker: (hope this helps)

Another foggy, cloudy day here in SWMN. Those poor people in the Eastern part of the state got another 2 in of rain last night.

Who was it that was in serious need of rain Timr? We were in the same boat a week ago, but now we are full, I'll send the next batch down to you!

That's a freakin joke about selling the c25k program! I missed the whole CR moving to Active thing.

(((Theia's friend)))

Best wishes to Beth's dad, hope all goes well!

Moe- feel better! ~ I know I typed this about a month ago, but I started reading the HP series, I have completed 1 and 2, and need to get #3! I am loving them! Good thing I decided to check them out!

Anyway, I got my 2 miles in last night, sort of in between thunderstorms, they felt good! Today is a rest day.

Wishing good days to all, I have an office day today, so I may check in more!

I'll try my best to turn Active's BS into a positive... perhaps it will drive some people who are starting out to check into local running clubs/group runs. I know of several local clubs near me with beginning programs that are VERY similar to the C25k, in fact, I know of one group run that is catered to beginners that is free, and some of the friendships that formed out of that group are incredible. If Active's charging money forces more beginners to come together in communities all over to share support, and training ideas, in lieu of paying $19.95 for a plan, then maybe that would be a good thing.

Nothing is worse that that... well, rolling in poo is pretty bad too, but I think rolling in dead stuff is worse. Hard to get that stench out, and the worst is the "surprise" of finding it when giving your doggie attention... yuck...

What a strange week it's been some ways. Still no sunshine either. 4th straight day of overcast, I need some sun, ugh. Lost power too overnight, which caused me to wake up when it happened, couldn't fall back asleep for more than an hour, then when the power came back on at 4:15, that woke me up too. I've been up ever since. I'm grumpy.

Stopped at the lab today to get blood drawn for an HbA1c. It should be good, I'm expecting it should be around 5.8 on the upper end of the normal reference range for the non-diabetic population and pretty damn good for a type 1 diabetic.

Frankly, I'm amazed they think charging 19.95 is a good idea. There'll be plenty of sites who'll offer similar programs for free, so the 19.95 is only going to serve as a turnoff to attracting beginner runners to their site. It seems to me you use the introductory stages to bring the person in to becoming a runner, a runner who might then bring you repeat business by using the site to register for races.

It's somewhat akin to what the med supply companies due with glucometers. They'll give you glucometers for free, because they'll make up the money by selling you the testing strips.
