My peeps!

Back from Michigan. Unfortunately there wasn't much time left over for 30s meet and greets because of my massive family and the gratuitous driving that needed to be done.

The game was pretty good. I don't think we'll be invited back.

Work is really busy, so I've missed lots of posts. Hopefully I'll get some time to dig into the RR forum and catch up on the weekend racers.

Rich has been working really hard to bomb-proof the place in his spare moments. Tough job trying to do that stuff at the end of a long day at work, so once again, THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS!!!!

KP/Tonya - Thanks for trying!

Kath - Next time for sure!

I am out of the geek race for sure if we measure the winner based on their Star Trek knowledge...I have no idea what anyone is talking about with the Star Trek stuff..

on this day...I am not a geek....yiiipppeeeeee..

tomorrow could be a totally different story
yeaa got one right. Props out to Staci for the Star Trek knowledge. Very nice. Though I dare not "engage" my geek skills against this formidable crowd. When I was a younger whipper snapper I could compete with the best of 'em. But to paraphrase Vader- "my powers are weak (for an) old man"

On the other hand, I am almost unstoppable in Doctor Who trivia seeing as I have all 30 seasons (longest lasting sci fi show ever) worth of that show on dvd.
c'mon, this is fun...

how far is a parsec?

what kind of being is Q?

i think he did too much LDS...

okayokay. i'll stop.
So like I was totally going to join the geek patrol here and you know, parade around in my squareness, but then I thought to myself, like, place thought bubble here, you know, "Winter, you are so much more vamp and tubular then the rest of them. To, like, thine own self be true." So, like, I'm soooooooooooooooo sorry, dudes, but I got to be me and knock out the nerd within.
Staci don't stop. Sports or Sci-Fi work for me heh
I am reading slow hoping some of this will make sense. Nope, didn't work, still confused.
Heather, my RR is here, with pics.
well, since you haven't been around much, I'm glad you've come back on a day you'll enjoy the topic.
(That was a very nice way to say, ugh, not for me. )
gosh glad you posted that I missed it last week. very cool event and hardware to go with it!!
LOL I will interpret that as "hello"! I am guessing that sci-fi, like sports, are tolerated here in small manageable portions. Not too much so that we don't rile the masses. hehe
QOD - What television show(s) are you most looking forward to this fall?
Even though it looks like the Tiggers won't be there?

The two shows I'm looking most forward to don't actually start until January. Lost and Battlestar Galactica.
Gettin' ready to leave, thought I'd drop a final post. Yep, going to England and a couple days in France. And, yes, it's Jason who's renewing the vows.

Got 8 miles in earlier in 1:09:45 (8:43/mile). It was actually a really good run and I'm glad I snuck it in. I've got a couple 5-milers I need to do to round out the week, but if I get one of them in, great. If I get both, awesome. If I get neither, no biggy.

I've got the camera packed, so I'll try to take some photos. Is it sad that I packed like a ton of running gear?

Anyway, ya'll behave while I'm gone. And I second the thanks to Rich for putting up with the crap and giving us a home.

And, Litch, excellent post. I don't know if you've seen my tattoo. If not, I can post it when I get back.

Finally, let me leave you with this little somethin'. This new church is going up right across the street from my dentist. I took a picture of it this morning. I shit you not.

I see that we're back.

6 miles for me today in temps that were below 70 degrees - that felt great.

A few random observations after scanning the thread:

A. I had a pair of 2090s too - back in 2005.

2. Michigan still has fans. Wow.

d. Nice race Jill (and Zeke).

(iv). My geek quotient is pretty low, so I didn't understand much of the last few pages.

I'll try to catch up on the rest later.

Good runs to all.

Trevor
Lost doesn't start until February - dammit.
QOD

Heroes, Lost and as soon as I watch all of the season 3 DVDs to get caught up, The Office

ETA-the whole no LOST til February deal absolutely sucks
This Saturday's football game between Mississippi State and Auburn. Honestly, now I just don't have time to keep up with any TV series. I'm only home 2 or 3 evenings a week, and that time is taken up w/ dinner cooking/cleanup, storytime and kids baths, etc. It's hectic but it's real, and I like it.
Yep, doesn't matter to me, I like baseball. Maybe the Tigers will stage a comeback in tne next couple of weeks.
