Quick check-in to send my best wishes and thoughts to Frankie and family. Keep us posted on your FIL's progress.

4.6 tonight in 49:34 (that's a sub-11mm pace, folks)...! I always run faster in the dark, I should find races that start 8pm or later.

Ack. Maggie just had a little pregnancy problem this evening. It doesn't seem like a big deal, so nobody has to freak out. Here's the issue... She had a regular appointment with her doc this morning. The doc asked her a bunch of questions, one of which was "Have you had any blurry vision?" I guess that's something not uncommon in pregnancy. Anyway, Maggie's answer was No. But then when I got home from work, Maggie told me that she was having blurry vision, and she called the doc, who then advised her to go to the hospital for some tests. So we just spent the last 4 hours at the hospital making sure everything is okay. And it is. So that's good news.

Of course, this has me thinking that my wife is nothing more than a hypochondriac. If the doc had never mentioned anything about blurry vision, my wife never would have gotten it. At least that's my theory now. Who knows. The important thing is that everything is okay. Oh well, this was a wasted evening. Not the end of the world...

I didn't have any time to read the thread at all today. I hope everyone is okay. I had to skip my run as well, but again, not the end of the world. Maybe I'll just tack a few miles onto tomorrow's run to make up for it.. We shall see...

Sorry you had a little scare there boB. I hope Maggie is feeling better. When it comes to Mom's and their babies it's always better to err on the side of caution. Good job, Dad. (not that you are my dad...you get it right?)

SO looking forward to seeing this one...my favorite Krakauer book. Evidently Sean Penn hired Krakauer as a consultant and filmed in the same exact locations where Chris actually was at the time of his death in AK.

Is that from "A Few Good Men"? If so, I think it might be *slightly* misquoted. If not, just ignore me.

Hey gang...

Absolutely CAN-NOT read this whole thread...is there anyone on here who actually *works* at work every day? Or do you all just sit around surfing KR and pretending to be busy?

I joined the gym here in town last week, and went after work today. Am starting back up with weights and also did a rinky-dink 1.5 miles on the 'mill. Damn, have I lost a lot of ground over the last 3 months. Oh, well...gives me some place to start, I guess. I'm hoping to be MARIA someday and shatter the 2:00 barrier I have going in the half, so we'll see what happens.

I guess that's all...I feel like I'm so lost because I've been absent from here. So, healing vibes to those who need 'em, hugs to those who need THEM, and a big old "hidey ho neighbors!" to the rest of you.

Later taters!

Ann nice to see you back with us...and just for the record I was actually busy today (broken collarbone to deal with during the soccer game and all) and posted on something like page 3-4 and then again on page 12.

KP!!! Your broken collarbone or someone elses??? Hope it isn't you. And I had to laugh because I at least made it through your reply to T about her forgetting her swim stuff...

Ok, enough for tonight.

I read through the posts but jeepers now there's not much time to post anything. Hugs and well wishes to Frankie's FIL and Mrs. and baBy boB. Being preggo for the first time is scaaaaaaaaaaaary. Men, you will never know what it's like to have a HUMAN BEING INSIDE YOU. Every so often I'd get all creeped out and thinking about the movie Alien. gah.

All the talk about the super fantastic foods left me drooling and I ate nuthin' but Cheezits for dinner. bleargh. I reckon I'll eat something better before bed to fuel up for a quick a.m. run.

Did I mention that I killed our fish? DS was sure I did it on purpose. Right. I changed the water in that fish bowl for the last year and a half and moved them all the way from Wisconsin to Minnesota so I could bring them to this house and murder them.

And I tried to blacken my eye. Drilling a hole into the kitchen counter to snake the computer cables through and I was putting pressure on the drill when it gave way and my face connected with the kitchen cabinet - eye socket connected with cabinet knob. Nice.

Beth, I'd totally run the half as a training run if I were in your shoes.

Must get ready for bed.

Good Night all. Happy Trails!

Bob - here's hoping it's all just a scare; like BigG said, pregnancy the first time around is always an adventure (not that I've ever had to go through it myself, but all my sibs relate the same experience.)

Lora - I wanted to post this pic especially because of your experience at the PDR. This first tri I had this Sunday was my first real major battle with GI issues, and while I was having fun this race, I had by far never felt as awful as I did from halfway onward compared to any previous race.

I really didn't realize what I was battling until I finally saw the pics I took of myself post-race for the first time today. I couldn't friggin' believe how distended my gut is in this pic, and tri clothing isn't the most flattering to begin with. I think you deserve extra props for doing as well as you did with your race

Nope - their white shoes with red trim; the dust from the trails have kinda' muted the red color

Actually, its funny you mention that - I was trying to pick out the pink dress in those pics you posted earlier. I do have a slight problem detecting subtle shades or red/pink. You don't know how many times I've walked out of the house with what I thought was a white towel to go to the pool and found out in the super bright lights in the gym that it was actually pink!

Aw man if only we were all staying at the same hotel in Philly. Practical joke in the making I tell ya.

Moe, those costumes are awesome! Can't believe you have the time! If my tutu needs to take a back-burner to sometime next year, I understand.

Big hugs to everyone with an ailing family member.

Aw, thanks Nettie (and everyone else who commented earlier). It's been a lot of fun. I didn't make everything; I only made the ballerina costumes and the cowgirl vest. I had to alter a lot of stuff otherwise, but that's it. Half of the job is just detectve work!

Your tutu will be ready well before Philly! That'll take me 45 mins!

Great run, Maria! That's really flying if your mileage holds up.

Kath, I think we've had sweet potatoe/yam fries that were pretty tasty. I didn't know you were potato-free. That would be a very tough one for me.

Moon, that's a great picture. Your belly does look strange, but the overall effect is one happy tri-athlete!

Speaking of which, I officially declared my cold gone today, so I spent the lunch hour in the pool and had some nice swimming happening. No bow-legged women though.

I will keep him and your family in my thoughts.

Congrats on the fix.

Night Frankie. Glad to see you got the CD. I was a bit worried that you might not like the music. Some stuff I like, not everyone enjoys. I really gave a lot of thought to what I would put on there. My tastes are rather eclectic so I tried to put a little bit of everything but country and classical.
