Okay, we'll try this one more time. This will be the third weekday in a row that I attemt to start a thread. If I get pre-empted again, then I'll know it's just not meant to be...

Thanks for all the camera advice yesterday. I have been happy with my 4-year old Sony Cybershot. so I think I might just go with another one. I think this is my leading candidate right now. Before I buy it, I'll find it in a store and try it out. We'll see...

My run last night was fairly uneventful. A simple 3.3 miles at a 8:52 pace. No big deal...

Well, it's another day. Have a good one, everybody...

Morning dear sweet Roo!!!

At work early cause I was up early dropping Auntie Moe off at the airport. Luckily that means I can get out of here by 2! Which is good cause one of my doggies isn't feeling well.

Had a fabulous weekend in the mountains. Did a little run/walk combo Sat with my friend who is trying to bust back into running. And Sun did some hiking. Well, more than hiking I climbed a ridiculous number of stairs at Bushkill Falls, it was tough! Mon was spent taking the scenic ride home and touring Eastern State Pen, only got through half of it in 2 hours! Can't wait to go back to finish the tour. All around, I had a fabulous weekend!

Got a swim on tap for tonight. Hopefully some strength work after that.

Can't wait to find Solar's race report! And great pics from your hard core trail run Mary! There were tons of great photos floating around, good stuff!

Ok, off to the lab. Happy Tuesday to you all!

I did my first interval session today. 1 mile warmup, then3X800m with 400m of recovery in between, followed by a cooldown of 800m. So 2400m worth, solidly under the 8% maximum recommended by Daniels.

Of course, there are some things that only experience can teach, especially sense of one's own pace. Especially when you're running in the dark and fog too. I knew I bolted out too fast on the first 400m and was a bit dismayed when it split at 2:02, I then got myself back down more to where I wanted on the second half of the first 800m interval, but the effect carried over into the next two intervals. Oh well. It wasn't bad though and hopefully I got a beneficial workout in today.

I am a terrible patient.

After you defend? You will need a killer party for that! Did you say you are only 2 hours from Erie, PA?

I ran 3 miles yesterday. Felt good! I think me and running are having a little make-up session this week.....make-ups are great!

Good runs all.

Morning!

Haven't slept well lately (it's a full moon, yes?) so I hit the snooze 3 times this morning, therefore I arrived to work just before the kids came in to homeroom... ugh. Good thing is, I have my prep first period! Yippee!

Bob, I'm counting on your continued Bobcam pix around here, so you better make a good choice on that camera purchase!

phdatc, apologies in advance, but I think I missed what you teach??? Sorry -- I should probably know...

Maria, glad your LR went well -- I hate that it's getting darker earlier, too.

Hey, Duck - I just got a msg that fares between PDX and PHL are $164 right now... I'm just sayin'... (come to Philly in Nov!)

Ok, I've gotta get some papers graded. more later...

Good Morning! It's been a very long time since I've had a chance to post that. I'm glad to start feeling in the loop again, I've missed everyone!

Tonya - any guesses on what the weather will be like for the relay? I was thinking it would be cold by the end of Oct in Michigan, but I didn't think it would be 95 now. I'm already an overpacker, it will be a mess if I have to account for too much variance in the weather.

Later!

Buddy if i had any damn idea how to delete my thread i would be happy to do so. I think you, scratch and i are on the same AM schedule. Back at cool running we used to start all the time and I would just delete mine and re post.

We love you Bob, oh yes we doooo!
We love you Bob, and we'll be truuuue!
When you're not near us, we're bluuuue!
Oh Bob we love yoooou!

(I couldn't type your name the way you'd sing it, otherwise we'd be singing to Booooob. A worthwhile cause, perhaps, especially for the gents, but I didn't want there to be any confusion.)

No runs today. I have my class (the one I'm taking, not the one I'm teaching) and then volunteering tonight.

QODY: not stretching, and taking too many liberties with my training schedule this time around (generally not getting in enough weekday runs to properly build my base).

AGH! Which thread are we following? I posted in Bob's... Morning to those here!!!

Late Michigan weather: last year same weekend it was in the upper 40s-low 50s by the end of the race, BUT there was a 40 mph wind. The challenge this year will be the start time, 8 a.m. since daylight savings time doesn't end until November it will be dark at the start.

I'm going with boB's thread today.

So, I set my alarm and then didn't get up for my run. I just felt like I needed the sleep. I'll get it in after work today. I fell asleep before the end of Monday Night Football, but woke up at 3:11am for a bit.

I had a budget review meeting with the CIO yesterday, and now, I have a bunch of new reports to write for an 6 hr offsite meeting tomorrow on the same subject. Today, we have an offsite teaming event with the Columbia IT staff. Should be fun. We'll see how long I can stick around for that, since I have these reports to do.

Well, I gotta get some breakfast and get some work. I'll check back into Bob's thread later.

Maybe Duckgeek can flex his mod powers and merge the two Tuesday threads into one?

Hey all:

I think it is time Bob gets some love here, so I will post in his thread today.

EZ 5 or 6 last night, first run pain-free in 2 months, so that was cool. I will keep it fairly easy this week and maybe do a workout toward the end of the week.

Loved all the pictures yesterday, so I will add a few of my own.

DS picking apples this weekend. WHO HUNG ALL THESE BALLS ON THE TREE??? (I can tell we will be hanging ornaments higher on the tree at xmas this year.

Me & DD. We bought her this hat as a baby and she hates hats. She has never worn it except for the 5 seconds to take this picture and will probably never wear it again.

I'm off to pre-school, today is DD's first day. But she went there last year, so she is an old pro.

Have a good Tuesday!

Hello my cyber friends. Got back from my morning run (3 east) in the park and am now ready for the rest of the day.

Tom, great pics! And I loved everyone's photos from yesterday.

Beth, thanks for the CD mix! Haven't been able to listen to all of it but I like what I hear so far.

just a quick look in gang.

Wow-Heroes has set us up for quite a season. I can hardly wait to have some of the blanks filled in that they started last night. I totally dig this show.

Okay here is QOD for ya inspired by the planning DW and are doing for our 3rd annual Halloween costume party with our card club (actually we are more of a drinking club that plays a few hands of cards.)

so QOD

A. Do you like to dress for Halloween as an adult
2. What are you gonna be this year

For me I love it, I think it is a blast to see drunk adult peoples in costumes.

This yar DW and I have decided I am Howie Mandel and she will be a Model carrying a suitcase...we are totally going to have some fun with it at party as well.

G'mornin'. It's 62* and dry out there (dewpoint in the low 40's) -- a beautiful morning to get out for 6M recovery, once it's light enough to see.

Nice job on the track workout, Scratch. Interval pacing is hard -- I don't think I ever got it right this time around in my HM training.

Cute kids, Tom! I think someone mentioned this before, but you do look totally different in your running pics.

Welcome back, Beaker!

Solar, what do you teach?

Sun's just about up...I'm off....

Tom- cute photos!

QOD- I don't do it every year, but I have dressed up many times as an adult. One of my favorite costumes was from a few years ago. I wore pajamas, bathrobe, slippers, etc. Carried a basket full of OTC meds, thermometer (which I kept popping in my mouth), and a book called "The Handbook of Signs and Symptoms" which I borrowed from my mom. What was I? A hypochondriac.

OK, everyone else has been posting cute kid photos. This is my niece, who is 3.5 years old. My sister sent me this cell phone photo because she thought her DD looked like me when I was little (she does). Her bangs look funny because she gave herself a haircut back in June. Looks like they are getting long enough that my sister could get things evened out with a trip to the salon.
